Visited this place on my Daughters birthday for Dinner, it took us about 15 minutes from OM beach road to reach the place.
Location for your ease : It’s located within premises of Zostel, not really on the beach but yes from the cafe you can see the Beach view
They have ample of parking space and the restaurant also has enough tables to cater large gatherings. They have wooden decor with an ambient environment.
We liked the service as it was quick and staff was very hospitable. We ordered quite a few things here and out of the whole list of order I guess Pizza was the only option whose quantity matches the kind of price they have.
Chicken Ghee Roast : This comes in a fiery preparation having a lot of masala and tadka over chicken balls prepared in Ghee, costs around 360/- for 5-6 small pieces
Butter Garlic Prawns : Prawns prepared a creamy butter gravy where every bite will give you distinctive taste of cream, again around 5-6 pcs costing around 400/-
Soy Chilly Cauliflower: Lovely preparation, crispy pcs of cauliflower prepared alongside veggies
Farm House Pizza : Medium size Pizza with veggie stuffings costing around 400/- completely worth the money
Overall it was a great place, would be amazing if they could possibly work a bit around Quantity

I had my breakfast at this place when I was staying in Zostel Gokarna. The cafe is available for dine-in for outsiders as well who are not staying in Zostel. The cafe has a really nice aerial view
of the Gokarna Main Beach. The staff were also very courteous. I had a nutella chocolate chip
pancake here and the taste was really nice. It was quite chocolaty and sweet. I had a pretty
good meal at this place.l

Mantra cafe is riding purely on the basis of customer reviews about food but sadly their service is worst and the manager has the audacity to tell customers to calm down and raise concern after 45 mins had passed and a single roti order was not served. I would never recommend a place that doesnt serve its customer well and let alone these guys were really really bad. Their staff doesnt take orders properly. To top i would urge the xostel staff to do a proper check before hiring such people as managers for a brand like zostel that has made its name in the country. UTTERLY DISSAPOINTED AND NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL. Also, the food was not great please visit Namaste cafe really good food and service.

Pathetic food. We ordered Veg pizza n pasta and both of them were so terrible in taste that we left them as it is just after having a few bites. Also, the Cranberry juice was like rooh afza (sharbat). It was so sugary that it felt like sugar syrup. On top of that, it is so over-priced just because there is no other option nearby.Only the interior is fine, with cats roaming around in the cafe. I would recommend, if you wanna have some good food, avoid this place and save yourself a hefty money & efforts.

With the views, you can possibly spend 2-3 hours hanging out and drinking beer. But you won't smack your lips or lick your fingers on the food served. Prices are $$ like any other place around.
It's got a hippie name and the reviews have given it the fame; lower your expectations on the food and you will have a good time.
Old world rock and friendly service is on the house. At Mantra cafe, I would have preferred the music of the sea.

Read a lot about Mantra Cafe and visited it for dinner on the first night of our trip. It was so amazing that we just had to come again the next night too. :)
The cafe has a great ambience, very chill and casual. The staff, Surjit and gang are very courteous and polite and always speak to you with a smile. Coming to the food, there are great continental options on offer. We didn't try the Indian items on the menu on either day. The chicken starters are good, the pie is absolutely delicious! A must have! Both chicken pizzas were light and yumm, but couldn't make out a difference between the two, never mind. Pastas and chicken stroganoff were nice too. Must try the kokum fizzy drink too. :)
The 2nd night had a live beat-boxing and musical performance at the cafe by some guests. Made the atmosphere very lively and enjoyable.
The best cafe in Gokarna, hands down! :)

I was travelling through Gokarna & was held up at Zostel for a few days. The most convenient spot to grab some food was at Mantra Café which was adjacent to it. I have given it a 2 out of 5 points not particularly because of the food or service but because of the behaviour of the café manager which I found to be utterly unprofessional.
On the last day of my stay, the manager realised I spoke the native language of an employee working there (who I was in a conversation with) & his attitude towards me changed rather drastically. I was taken aback. Since Zostel is backpackers' haven where you get to meet people from all walks of life; it was surprising. Moreover, being in such an industry where good nature is paramount I would expect the least from a man in his position to understand the repercussions of his behaviour towards the brand he is representing. It was totally uncalled for. Besides the manager I found the other employees to be very friendly & helpful throughout. The food was decent.
I wish I could have addressed this issue right there but I had to continue on my journey the same evening of this incident. Regardless, I hope this was an isolated event & Mantra Café does not treat all their customers the same way it treated me. However, if I do return to Gokarna I'll have to think twice before staying at Zostel & eating at Mantra Café.

The cafe is having an amazing vibe. This cafe is located very near to Zostel and easy to find out.Food options can be improved. Food quality is good but I had greater expectation. Beer is available. I loved the music and the vibe of the place and will definitely visit this place during my next trip to Gokarna.

Food was awesome along with the ambience and view of the beach from the cafe.Plus got to meet new people .Would recommend their choco chip pancakes and arabiatta pasta.Their omlettes are also yum. Staff are also good and helpful and they give you suggestions as to the house specialities.( Cafe s closed from 3pm to 5 pm)

It is regarded as the best cafe in gokarna and yes it is worth the hype. The food was good enough and the prices were reasonable. we went in the evening after finding it om bino. has a wonderful beach view. dont miss to check out!

Overall Nice Food and nice live music...I love the ambiance. We ate vegetarian food . overall, it's quite the best place to hang out and have good food. You must visit the restaurant when you are planning for Gokarna

The place is usually crowded. The food is average (not bad). The menu is limited. The choice of beers are also limited. The staff is good but the kitchen is slow. There is a huge zenga to play.
The kitchen remains closed during the afternoon mainly between 3pm to 7pm (please check before hand). This is within the Zostel premisis.

Mantra cafe is located adjacent to Zostel, Gokarna. We had been to this cafe for lunch and food was delicious. Music was soothing. Evening sunset view along with Gokarna main beach was amazing.
