This venue reminded me off eating at school. The food was wholesome and large quantities. It is good value pub grub. The landlord could be a bit more welcoming which would improve the experience. The pub is in a good location and worth a visit if you are hungry.

Thank you Humpty!! You will be pleased to know that in general we receive glowing Ofsted Reports but on occasion we have to deal with unruly children. I am pleased that the school dinners were to your liking and one left with a full tummy.

Very enjoyable pub meal served very fresh and very fast. Staff were friendly and attentive and food was of a good standard. It seems to attract an older clientele judging by the sixties music on loop throughout our meal. Well kept bitters were most welcome...More

We visited Sunday lunchtime just after one. We hadn't booked and the title of the review was the bar man's response to me asking for a table. There was only one table not reserved in the dining room! It reminded me a little of Fawlty...More

A great selection of food which was tasty and came quickly. I was starving before I went and still couldn't finish everything: great portions. The atmosphere here was a nice buzz and the serving staff were really friendly. I'd definitely make a return visit.
