A yearly visit as the food is always excellent. This time we ordered a menu for 2. (€67) whilst waiting they brought us some home made plate, really good! Included in the menu a great bottle of wine( Ribera del Duero) two fantastic starters, smoked ham and morcilla de Burgos a main course of lamb prepared in the oven, deliciously... More

Three of us ate at the restaurant and sat on the small terrace (in a quite attractive pedestrianised street in the old town). The huge range of choice for such a small restaurant concerned us, so we all chose from the Menu Del Dia at 15 euros a head thinking it would be the freshest option. Bread arrived in two... More

We had a week in Spain and were quite surprised at how cheap the food and drinks were in Cantabria. But, you don't just want cheap but good food and service. The Abadia was in the old street in Laredo with lots of bars and restaurants. We went for the meal of the day for 15 euros each and got... More

Some unusual dishes on offer, my wife had pig's knuckle with some reservation but found it to be tasty and loaded with meat. I took a safer option... More

I had menu of the day for 14 euro, including wine and water. For starters I had mushroom risotto with serano ham which tasted great. For the main course I had a really good beef with cheese sauce, perfectly cooked and really tender. It's located in the old part of the town where the locals are at. It's great just... More

Fish full of bones and escalope of veal worst cut of meat and so tough it was inedible. Better to go to tapas bar. Great little street tho, and Laredo was lovely.
