Stayed next door at the Camino Verde B&B and at here 3 nights. Food is great and service is with a smile. You know it's good when the ticos eat here too.

We had a little trouble finding this place. To get there from downtown Santa Elena, you have to walk toward the big supermarket, then just as you're about to go past it, walk down the little set of stone steps onto the dirt road that's lower than the main road. That climbs up the hill until you get to a... More

This was just down from our B & B and came with good reviews. Just like others have said good Casado and relatively inexpensive for Santa Elena area. Owners cooking is very delicious! We had Gallo Pinto and Casado con Pollo together with a tasty Pina shake. Fairly cramped inside and if its busy service may be slow. Bonus: moist... More

We came here for dinner. Im a vegetarian and was craving for a soup after hiking in a Cloud Forest in a rain. They didnt have vegetarian soups on a menu, but waitress said they would fix something up. My vegetable soup came the best! We spoke limited Spanish and they spoke limited English, but we had no issues understanding... More

This was first rate. Not a flash place, but a simple local place with excellent fresh food. Chicken Casado was superb with extra (free) fresh vegetables and a free slice of banana cake. Ignore the "international" options and eat here. You won't regret it.

My husband and I both had the rice & beans special (chicken for him & pork chop for me). We also ordered the fresh fruit drinks (strawberry with water & mango with milk). The waitress also brought us complementary cake. Everything was tasty, and the prices were very reasonable (around 9000 colones for everything including tax & tip).

They might do local dishes well but not their steak. Credit to them they did not charge for the one that was completely inedible. But being a Soda did not make it that cheap either, captive audience and all that!

Really good local food, and really nice service! Was so hungry and found this place, i was for a while the only customer and was able to sit and watch the windy weather. Cute, cozy and peaceful restaurant, i recommend it!

It's slightly off the beaten track but it's well worth the adventure! My friends and I had our best Costa Rican food here at an affordable price AND we received free desert with the coffee. I made this account just to give them a great review.

We stumbled upon this tiny soda a short distance from Camino Verde B&B. Local food, prepared well and served by a kind and friendly staff.
