We had lunch at this resturant 2 times before and enjoyed it, so when we had friends visiting decided to bring them here in the evening, it was a let down from start to Finnish, bread was hard as the road, staff couldn't care less and the noise from the in house music gave us all a headache. 2 of... We had dinner here on our first night following a recommendation from our hotel receptionist and it was excellent. A selection of shrimp and breads were brought to our table upon sitting down (for a very small charge); We then had the seabass and it was pan fried to perfection. It came with some potatoes and a local salad. It's... More

My wife had grilled prawns ; which had only the taste of the salt that had been profusely poured on them. And I had a sea food rice. What can I say ? I had in fact rice and sea food in my plate. But the all thing had absolutely no taste at all. How is it possible ? It... More

Stumbled across this place whilst out having a drive about and stopped off to check out Alvor. The colours, music, smells, bustle and friendly staff just told me this was the place I wanted to eat. A small selection of shrimp, olives, bread and tuna with onion and beans was promptly brought out as a starter, we ordered sardines and... More

This is a good reliable typically Portuguese restaurant. The menu is varied and the fish dishes are especially good. Unfortunately, it is a victim of its own popularity and unless you get in early you may have to wait awhile. However, if you are not in a hurry, the wait is worthwhile.

Now I know how the fish feel! My wife and I saw what we wanted on the board and sat down. Immediately bread and tapas were set down without asking. We asked for water - we were given the biggest bottle automatically while the waiter then talked us out of what we asked for and into more expensive dishes. While... More

We have had lunch here three times since November and have never been disappointed. This definitely not fine dining, it is an unpretentious, outdoor taberna serving predominantly fresh fish and shellfish. Yes, when busy, the service can be a bit erratic, but the quality of the food in terms of freshness and flavour compensate in my opinion. Covers of bread,... More

As you would expect, a restaurant beside the moored fishing boats, lovely fresh fish. Tried scabbard - and for €9 had good meal with potatoes and tomato salad. Previously had fish soup - delicious too, €2.50 and partner had vegetables soup €1, very good value, and tasty

Nice lunch in early January, in a beautiful day which seemed coming from a warm spring (sunny, 20° C). The starter was an excellent fish soup, with a strong tomato flavour and many chunks of fish meat (no bones!). The main dish was a generous dose of "clams with pork meat", very tasty with fresh clams, a traditional dish in... More

A real pity.We used to visit when this was a humble fish restaurant. However, due to the location, a colouful redesign and frequent live music, the place has now become an uncaring tourist trap.Service is thoughtless, without charm (except when they usher you in) and disorganised.Avoid.There are far more deserving places in Alvor.
