Just off the harbour, but with views over the water (if you sit outside) you'll find this little gem on a fish restaurant. The staff are friendly, know their stuff and are not adverse to answering questions or demonstrating their fantastic filleting technique! My family had a relaxed and delicious late-lunch here in April 2017 and would highly recommend this... More
We came across this lovely restaurant strolling along the waterfront. It has a nice view of the hustling streets as well as the water front if you sit on the terrace. We ordered a seafood platter which was amazing. It came with clams and mussels in a white wine and garlic sauce. Dressed crab and claws, oysters, grill prawns and... More
After wandering around looking at all the restaurants we chose A Lota and we definitely made the right choice. A very friendly welcome and a table by the window indoors as it had become a little cool. Although we had no starters we had delicious bread. We were shown the catches of the day and chose the golden bream for... More
Had a wonderful meal here the fish so fresh and perfectly cooked with fresh veg - lovely local wine - great service very professional but caring and helpful ( especially as I have mobility issues) great quality of all food and very well priced. Easy to find and certainly would return and recommend

The service was attentive at first but I felt it cooled a bit when we went for the couvert but no starters and I happened to choose... More
Getting there was already a great experience. As we were there in early spring, we did not have trouble in finding parking spots and walk down the vivid street, The fish was very fresh and tasty. The service is great. It took some time to have the dishes ready for us, but as we were on vacation, it did not... More
When we try a new restaurant in the Algarve I always order the sole, my benchmarks are Rick Stein's wonderful but incredibly expensive meunière in Padstow and Arrifano Restaurante Oceano's fantastic fresh grilled version on the west coast. Lota restaurant fell a bit short, the fish looked fresh in the glass case outside, but on the plate it didn't fall... More
