I visited this venue for a function on Friday night. The restaurant was closed for the Function. The offering for the evening was a chef inspired menu using local produce form not more than 3 hours travel from the restaurant. All courses were paired with...More

We all (4 of us) had an amazing lunch after spending the weekend in Stanthorpe for the wonderful Snowflake Festival and the "Barrelroom" was the icing on the cake. The menu is limited but what a wonderful experience. Amazing, tasty, well presented food, wonderful staff...More

Although I had been told that the Barrel Room restaurant was excellent, I was not expecting much from the food. It is a limited menu and the six of us had 4 dishes. Just a brilliant meal full of surprises and delicious ingredients. Will definitely...More

Booked a table for four (2 adults and 2 boys) on a very chilly night on the Granite Belt. Great venue with the wall of historic barrels and log fire - though the fire felt too far away from the table. Very friendly staff -...More

A beautiful setting in amongst the barrels. Service was very good and not overly attentive- one of my pet hates. Food while nice tended to be a little over thought. That said it still was very nice dining experience and one of the better of...More

Visited this restaurant Saturday 10th of June with 5 other people to celebrate my birthday. The restaurant was very busy and we got our starters quickly. The food was very enjoyable, but unfortunately our main course took another hour before we were served. Several other...More

Meal - Everyone was satisfied with the meal. Entrees in particular were very nice and a good portion size. We would have been wise to have ordered sides to go with our mains but otherwise the dishes were delicious and satisfying. We did not end...More

The food here was delicious. The only reason I didn't give this place 5 stars is due to the long 1 hr wait for our food to come out. Other than that, service was friendly & attentive. Always topping up our water etc. Lovely place...More

Hi Tilly, Catering for gluten intolerances is not at all a problem! With a few exceptions, most of our menu is gluten free and if not, can be modified slightly so that it is suitable and we always substitute the glutinous... More

We believe in keeping our food mileage low, utilising the abundant produce in the area and working with both local farmers and the seasons to showcase what the Granite Belt has to offer. We support free range and sustainable farming practices, as well as organic where possible, and have given ourselves a strict three hour radius in which to source our produce - if we cannot get something within this radius, we simply do not use it. We allowed three hours so we were able to reach Ballina for seafood, however most things are coming from much closer to home. Currently our pork, tomatoes and garlic come from within minutes of the restaurant. Because we use such local produce, for the most part we are unable to order in cuts of meat, so meat comes to us as whole beasts, if not delivered by the farmer who raised and slaughtered it, then by the butcher who did. For this reason, you will notice our mains will often feature a cut of meat as well as a braise so we can utilise and pay homage to the whole animal. Everything possible is produced in house including the bread, cultured cream and butter and we like to feature wild foraged ingredients on our menu. We welcome you warmly to The Barrelroom and hope you can appreciate the effort we put into designing a menu that is not only delicious, but mindful, clever and above all, respectful of the produce we utilise.
