Booked here for our last meal of the week in Porthleven. We ate here 3 or 4 years ago and enjoyed it. This time every bit as good. Lovely wine list, best in Porthleven, We started with Scallops (me) and mussels for my wife. Mussels were local and so plump I was jealous even though I loved my scallops For... More

Booked a table on our last night in Porthleven. What a gem. The food was excellent on par with some michelin starred restaurants. Food was great, as was the service, shame we only tried this on our last evening....

Lovely location overlooking the harbour. The decor is a little dads and pub like. My one suggestion would be to have table clothes on the tables, instead of bare tables, to match the quality of the food. Other restaurants in Porthleven, have better decor and tables, but not food as good as the Kota. Now service was polite and friendly... More

Thank you for your review and I am so pleased you enjoyed your meal. We are not a fast food restaurant, quite the opposite. Once we have taken your order the kitchen sends out a free 'amuse bouche', and once that has been eaten, we bring the customer some home made bread (again free of charge). Only then does the... My wife and I enjoyed a fantastic meal at Kota the other night. Excellent wine selection and the meals we had were of a very high standard. I've eaten at Michelin Starred restaurants and I'm surprised that Kota hasn't received a Star yet, but it can't be far away

Fantastic food and attentive service. We opted for 3 courses and every course was delicious. The restaurant is in a pub building, and is quite small so would recommend booking. On a Wednesday night in April, all tables were full. The menu isn't huge but lots of different types of food are covered.

Nice surroundings and pleasant staff but we wern't wowed by our choices. Our mains of lamb and duck were a bit wanting as the meat wasn't as good as we'd expect for the price and the time spent arranging my duck dish meant my veg were cold. Apologetic staff were appreciated with an allowance being made on the bill.

Our first visit to Kota could not have been better. Genuinely warm welcome followed by the style and quality of food that we had been looking forward to. Exquisitely made amuse bouche followed by pre-starter of oysters, tempura and natural - brill and hake mains were a perfect fusion of the freshest local fish and the Asian style and flavours...
