Myself and my husband ate in the bridge bar. His spare ribs were fabulous in his own words and my tasting plate was delicious. I’ll be looking forward to coming back here again

We had the special fish of the day and it was literally the best fish of the trip. Good service, it was Ireland's Mother's Day so they had a full compliment of servers. We had the choice of two places to eat lunch the day...More

The food was adequate. Not the best, but certainly not the worst. The service was good, nice person. But because it was a small town there was limited parking and that was a pain. It was convenient to what we were doing otherwise we probably...More

Had family dinner on Saturday evening and we all thoroughly enjoyed it . Between 6 of us we shared 3 starters of Nachos , crabs claws and ribs and there was enough for us all to have a taster . We all then had the...More

Stopped off here after driving around the Ring of Kerry/Valentia Island and I was pleasantly surprised! The decor of the building is very well done and it really has a nice blend of an old Irish bar with a modern twist. When we arrived we...More

Fun, festive and friendly. This bar is attached to the Moorings Guest House. It is just across the road from the Portmagee harbor and the charter boats for Skellig Michael. Food was great, especially the soups . The staff went out of their way to...More

We had a late lunch at The Bridge Bar before driving around Valentia Island. Not too many people in the bar, so service was really prompt. Good serving size of crumbed fish, coleslaw, mushy peas and chips. Reasonably priced; nice atmosphere. Parking would be a...More

As this was the only place in town open we didn't really have a choice on where to eat. However, that being said, the meal was still very good and I am glad it was the only place open. Both dishes were well prepared and...More

Except for all the Star Wars memorabilia and the Japanese TV crew interviewing the owner, this would simply be a terrific local pub filled with happy customers. The mussels fresh from the Atlantic Ocean were the best I had in Ireland. Connected to The Moorings...More

The Bridge Bar at The Moorings, Portmagee is open all year round. Great food served all day with traditional music at weekends. Trips to Skellig Michael can be arranged and packages are available from April to September. Cois Cuain gift shop is open from March to January. The Moorings is located in a fishing village with a working harbour, post office, general store, coffee shop, bar, restaurant overlooking Valentia Island. There's nothing more endearing than knowing that some of the Hollywood's biggest movie stars like Mark Hamill and Director J.J Abrams have visited the sleepy village of Portmagee, and even sat in the Bridge Bar local pub where Mark Hamill poured a pint of Guinness behind the bar. The Moorings was home to the pre-production team of the Star Wars VII movie and you can visit the room where all the magic took place and listen to the stories told by the staff.
