There’s only one menu. The price for the quality and quantity is excessive. The only positive things are the location which is really cute and the owner who was very friendly.

We really liked this personal place, full of surprices. We had a warm welcome and great service throughout the evening. Our impression was that the place really enjoyed having guests! Not st all common there days! Wehad a well cooked hearty meal. Nothing fancy, but...sturdy. Good build-up for our randonnée. The portions were enormous! We left in s good mood. The service rakes the ranking from three to four stars.More

Went last Friday with friends living in Pontarlier to this small place next to the bridge on the Doubs. Must be very nice in the summer with the terrace on the river. Very warm welcome by the owner. Menu is based on seasonal products and...changes daily. The chicken stew that evening was perfumed with citrus fruits. Original and very tasty. And the chocolate mousse was outstanding. I recommend if you are in the mindset of having no à la carte and need to follow the menu of the day. ThanksMore

One of the easy adventures of travel is finding unique places that significantly differ from home. After touring one of the local absinthe distilleries, we visited Cote Pont for lunch. Small riverside restaurant with a fire on the hearth. Set menu: soup, entree with side,...desert. Wine, aperitifs and coffee available. Well-made and served by the typical sole waiter. The room was all locals. Now, I know that it was a snowy day in January, but it's great without lots of tourists; that is why we often favor small over large European cities. Another sense that still differentiates continental Europe is the number of small, individual businesses – no chains. OUr children live in Europe, and they have noted and we have noticed that in things from clothing to food to accessories, there is more personality. Cote Pont was charming; a little chilly even with numerous radiators, but the proprietor offered lap blankets if desired, and we didn't use them. No English spoken, but no problem. We'll go back if we visit Pontarlier again.More

We dined at Restaurant Côte Pont on a cool and rainy evening and could not have been more pleased. The menu of the day (there is no à la carte) is posted outside the entrance so should you not eat something you do have the...option of skipping that course (the three items...appetizer, main and dessert are priced separately as well as together...28 euros for all three). We had a reservation made by the former owner of the restaurant at whose B&B we were staying (check out my separate review for Maison d'à Côte) and I am glad we did as people were turned away since the small space quickly filled up for the evening. The interior is delightful, our server (the new owner) very pleasant and the food was exceptional. Our starter was a raw vegetable medley served in a glass jar and beautifully seasoned and garnished. The main course, succulent beef cheeks with a rich potato side dish (did I detect some Comté cheese?) was exceptional. The gigantic profiterole a great finale. We had violet and peach flavored kirs and a lovely Cote du Rhone wine, perfectly matching the rich beef dish. When we return to Pontarlier, I hope we will find this restaurant unchanged....serving local, fresh, creatively prepared food. It is nice to just sit down and enjoy!More

We were traveling with friends from Switzerland who had been there before or we may not have seen the place. They have a plat du jour which is listed outside no other choices were available. The food was local and in season ,well prepared and delicious. It was...an experience as well as a great lunch as restaurants of this type tend to be in France.Eclectic decor(which changes occasionally according to our friends) was fun not pretentious, just fun.The veal stew may have been the best I ever ate and the desert was an apple dish that was totally unique and delicious. If in Pontarlier do not miss the opportunity to try it! The owner Arlette was gracious and charming.More

We had driven into Pontarlier and chosen the restaurant by chance. Restaurant was nicely located by the river. Beautiful little house restaurant run by a middle age couple. The food choices were on the blackboard outside the restaurant (we didn't know that). Food was great....The appetizers were delicious and remarkably made and very presentable. Our main course was a quiche. We enjoyed it tremendously - tasty and just the right amount. Coffee was good and well presented as well. The owners do not speak any English so communicating with them was a slight challenge with my limited french.More

Wonderful little restaurant right by the Doubs river. Very good service and the meals are always wonderful. Equally ideal for a quiet and calm dinner as for a larger company. Be sure to book in advance though, they are popular. The one thing that could...be improved is the wine selection. If half points could be awarded, it would get 4.5...More
