While staying on Brier Island, you can choose to walk on/off the ferry to this little restaurant, that serves up good food. Reservations are necessary as their reputation is widespread. Wonderful views of the ocean, of course!

We rode the ferry over from Brier Island, luckily we were told by the Brier Island Whale & Seal Boat Tours about this restaurant because there was nothing other than the lodge on the island itself. We got reservations, learning that it was a very busy time and had a wonderful meal of fish and scallops cooked to perfection with... More

I never was much of a fan of seafood until I ate here where Lavena's redefined the concept of good seafood to me. We're in our 18th year of traveling to Brier Island and every year we eat at Lavena's. In 18 years I've never been disappointed. It's really hard to deviate from the haddock, which is really, really good.

Had the pleasure of eating at this fantastic restaurant twice, while we stayed on Brier Island. Spent time with the husband/wife owners... staff was excellent, fresh fish was the best and their haddock/scallop chowder was the best ever. Highly recommend this fine dinning experience to anyone in the area... it was a treat for us to be able to walk... More

Was unsure at first, having driven from Digby to an unpretentious restaurant recommended by the hotelier of the B and B in Digby. Inside is basic but a clue to its quality was that it was very busy. The food was absolutley delicious. We tried Soloman Gundy and loved it. The server was delightful and extremely helpful. Highly recommend it.

We dined at Lavena's two nights in a row and we were very happy with our meals both nights. Portions were generous and reasonably priced. My daughter had the beef liver the first night which she enjoyed so much that she had it the next night. Her friend had the Caesar salad with roasted chicken breast. The second night my... More

I had fabulous turkey soup (cant have shellfish) and happy to say it was the best soup I have ever had in a restaurant and of course it comes with a great tasting biscuit. Also had delicious sweet potato fries and coleslaw ( I love Lavennas coleslaw but portion is tiny). My sister had a lobster roll which she raved... More

We had the bacon wrapped scallops, fishcakes, fish and chips, and the scallop dinner and to say it was delicious would be an understatement. Great portions and remember to make a reservation.
