I have visited Smoke and Liquor a number of times recently. The drinks list is extensive and excellent. This establishment provides knowledgable efficient service in comfortable surroundings. I have not tried the food at this establishment yet but the menu looks good with plenty of...More

Topes’ new look and menu can be summed up I one word: imaginative. The menu is a combination of main dishes and a range of smaller ones, a bit like tapas, but British, rather than Spanish. I had olives and the Scotch egg for starters....More

I cannot praise the staff enough at the newly revamped Smoke & Liquor as nothing was too much trouble. The only slight negative I noticed was that sometimes there was a bit of a wait for cocktails, however, as we were on wine we always...More

Absolutely fantastic atmosphere! Really funky and different and didn’t feel like I was dining locally! A classy venue with a lovely menu and we really enjoyed our food. Service was first class and we were really looked after and we will definitely be returning soon!

Topes was always our restaurant of choice for a meal out so I was sad when it closed but excited about smoke & licquor. My friends and I were warmly greeting by staff (as always!) and shown to our pre booked table. Staff were helpful...More

Decided to give the new smoke and liquor a go with my partner and friends, wow!!!! We were not disappointed. We started in the bar area with a gin from the huge gin selection and some little bites from the food menu, yum. Finally we...More

Owned by the same people as Topes, we were excited to try this for the first time. Visually stunning and the food we could see on tables looked appetising, however for a half empty restaurant the female manager / head waitress is far from welcoming...More

Being regular visitors to Rochester, we’ve eaten here a few times in its previous guise of Topes. We were told it was the same management so hoped for the same excellent standard of food. It was not to be. The starter was under seasoned, the...More

Having previously called ahead, we were advised that only 1 table was available for an hour but we wouldn’t be able to have food as that wouldn’t be enough time. The women on the phone then said we could come in and have a drink...More

Came in for a sunday Roast without a booking, so was pleased to get a seat. However for a restaurant who serves sunday roasts, gin and in a traditional English setting, the rest of the menu is just down right confused and odd.. Pidgeon Tacos,...More

I think the reviews are for Topes; it has just changed it's name to Smoke and Liquor, so I guess it'll be a whole different atmosphere and menu...

Description
Smoke & Liquor opens on 30th May 2018. Run by the same team that brought you Topes since 2004, S & L is a fresh, new bar and restaurant with a non-bookable bar area, reservable tables and offers a fantastic range of gin and rum. The menu is a fusion of bowl food, charcoal-fired grilled meat and fish and sharing plates. Unstructured dining with fabulous food.
