Just stopped in for a pint of Guiness and savour the local atmosphere. The commercial is a lovely Irish pub, warm welcome from the staff and a warming turf fire. The beer was good too.

I've never actually been inside the Commercial Hotel before for a bite to eat or a drink, me and my family have visited the nightclub they have situated within the hotel grounds called, 'Freddies'. I've enjoyed many great nights out at the club, but it's mainly for the 'younger' people now (i'm only 25 like). Even though the club was... More

It would be hard to find a more quintessential Irish pub than this lovely place in the heart of Ireland. Although we stopped in for just a quick lunch, the ambiance was lovely and the food was delicious.

Stopped for a quick snack en route to a destination. Very friendly bar maid. Very tasty pannini served with freshly cut chips. Just hit the spot.

With all the specials you get the same microwaved mushy veg with a so called roast potato, plus mash and chips and the same gravy, even with gammon! The gents toilets are grubby with the toilet seat lying on the floor for over a week, best Guinness in town though

Any time I stop in Ballinamore I normally go to the Commercial for some food, always found the it to be very good with huge portions. The steaks are always large and tasty as I believe they come from the excellent buther next door. If on the road and passing through ballinamore well worth stopping.

We were visiting Ballinamore recently and were told to go to this hotel for lunch. Oh dear; it was disappointing, to say the least. There were not enough staff on duty and the poor woman that was trying to serve us, was also doing the bar and being maitre Di. The food, in fairness was fine, apart from the beef... More

I opted for the trout dish, which looked good on paper, but didn't look much like any trout I've ever seen. Whatever it was, it was okay, nothing special. The fish was served with three vegetables, a sauce and, inexplicably, three types of potato: mashed, roast and chips. This was far too much. Overall the food was very average, and... More
