My husband and I stumbled across this restaurant by chance while looking for a place to eat in Montalcino. We had some fantastic meals during our two week stay in southern Tuscany and we both agreed that this was by far the best! Highlights of...More

My wife and I visited for dinner earlier this week. The ambiance is somewhere between "family dining room" and "romantic cottage". The restaurant is extremely clean, pleasant and organized. Sat down to a delightful encyclopedia of a wine list. Brunello di Montalcinos available going back...More

Tucked away in side alley, very cosy, comfortable, excellent traditional food, charming staff. We had crostini, rabbit and wild boar, and glasses of the local Brunello wines which we searched for at the winery near the car park and bought some to take home.

A great local restaurant in Montalcino with local cuisine and the best wine list I've seen in Italy. Five of us ate there and each had an excellent meal with great service. It was a weekend so the restaurant was rather busy but still great...More

Montalcino is famous for their delicious Brunello Di Montalcino wines that have been rated as some of the finest wines available. It is a quaint midieval town on a hill top, like so many in Tuscany. The meal at Taverna del Grappolo Blu was wonderful!...More

The service was quite slow and the food was nothing special. I had the rabbit with polenta and it was the moats tasteless polenta I've had in Italy ( I am an "amante" of polenta). I tried the pasta my husband and friends had and...More

Dear Lady, In Italy, if you have something so tasting as wildboar or rabbit you usually give as side dish something more tasteless, otherwise you will never eat it. What about grappa?! Well we have a menu and there are 2 types of grappa: white...More

We loved our meal at Grappolo Blu. A very busy young woman and older gentleman (perhaps father and daughter?) were running a packed dining room, and doing a fantastic job. Several times during our dinner people without reservations had to be turned away, because there...More

For almost 20 years I have been going to Montalcino, and I eat almost exclusively at Grappolo Blu. Good home cooking that includes opportunities to enjoy guinea hen, pici, and rabbit, among other dishes--and of course there's no beating the wine list!

Pleasant welcome and service. Great local dishes on the menu, including pasta with wild boar sauce, delicious rabbit and veal. Huge range of wines, although prices can be a bit steep. We ate here twice and would go there again on a future visit.

One of our best meals in Italy. Delicious crostini of the day (del giorno) with white cannelini beans and garlic, and tagliatelle with truffles and mushrooms. Can't wait to eat there again!

You can always bookreservations, and in fact it is a good idea because this is a very popular place. Usually my hotel does it for me but you can certainly do it yourself. You will have best luck booking as early in the... More

Hi Unfortunately I have no idea about the rooms. We were just for 1 day there. But I personally would stay somewhere out of the town. We stayed at agroturismo humile which was quite nice. That's kind of far away but I am... More
