A great local restaurant in Montalcino with local cuisine and the best wine list I've seen in Italy. Five of us ate there and each had an excellent meal with great service. It was a weekend so the restaurant was rather busy but still great...More

Montalcino is famous for their delicious Brunello Di Montalcino wines that have been rated as some of the finest wines available. It is a quaint midieval town on a hill top, like so many in Tuscany. The meal at Taverna del Grappolo Blu was wonderful!...More

The service was quite slow and the food was nothing special. I had the rabbit with polenta and it was the moats tasteless polenta I've had in Italy ( I am an "amante" of polenta). I tried the pasta my husband and friends had and...More

We loved our meal at Grappolo Blu. A very busy young woman and older gentleman (perhaps father and daughter?) were running a packed dining room, and doing a fantastic job. Several times during our dinner people without reservations had to be turned away, because there...More

For almost 20 years I have been going to Montalcino, and I eat almost exclusively at Grappolo Blu. Good home cooking that includes opportunities to enjoy guinea hen, pici, and rabbit, among other dishes--and of course there's no beating the wine list!

Pleasant welcome and service. Great local dishes on the menu, including pasta with wild boar sauce, delicious rabbit and veal. Huge range of wines, although prices can be a bit steep. We ate here twice and would go there again on a future visit.

One of our best meals in Italy. Delicious crostini of the day (del giorno) with white cannelini beans and garlic, and tagliatelle with truffles and mushrooms. Can't wait to eat there again!

This place is a gem. The pasta is amazing. The service was very friendly and quick. If you're there, order any and all of the Pinci pastas, a local specialty with some of the most delicious sauces. We couldn't decide which one we wanted so...More

My husband picked it out based on the street side menu. The best meal we had all week in Italy. No downsides. Low season, so few customers but everything fresh and delicious. No idea how they do it. Amazing!

Our hotel concierge recommended grappolo blu. The restaurant itself is very quaint and you feel like you are walking in to someone's home being served by family members. The food was amazing. Pic of menu is attached. We each had the pinci pasta, which is...More

You can always bookreservations, and in fact it is a good idea because this is a very popular place. Usually my hotel does it for me but you can certainly do it yourself. You will have best luck booking as early in the... More

Do they still rent rooms above your restaurant? If not who would you suggest stay either close to you or in town? There are 4 of us. Two adults and 2 kids (11 & 14 years old). Thank you, Paul and Gina Shapard

Hi Unfortunately I have no idea about the rooms. We were just for 1 day there. But I personally would stay somewhere out of the town. We stayed at agroturismo humile which was quite nice. That's kind of far away but I am... More

I LOVED this place. We were in Montelcino for 2 1/2 days and wound up eating dinner both nights here. Since then, I have tried to reproduce the Bolognese they made and can't find anything that comes close. It would be awesome if y'all did a cook book because Tuscan style Italian food is seriously WAY different and in my opinion, BETTER than what the average person is used to in America. :) Any chance of getting access to a recipe or two....or a cooking class???
