certainly is a place to visit to immerse yourself in a real mausoleum dedicated to the fascist era and its inspirer and guide. Every object, every detail is in tune with the theme of the place. The staff also has themed clothing as well as the menu description.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating during the booking. Even the wait staff is very nice.
As for the menu and the result of the dishes there would still be work to do.
the appetizer had some interesting elements, while the first courses certainly need to be reviewed and made more succulent and blended.
For the overcotto I would suggest a change of description. It is a stew and not an overcooked for which you expect soft and joyful meat. This unfortunately had neither
We expected some traditional Lazio dishes but unfortunately the menu does not present any exceptions.
A visit out of curiosity can fit.

We visited the Federale attracted by the positive reviews. Pleasant venue, courteous staff, very refined historical themed furnishings and excellent cuisine.
We enjoyed first and second courses plus the house (black) wine, remaining overall fully satisfied. Special mention for the tagliadito and the black truffle. The wine is also excellent, also black, did I already say that?
Nice experience, We will return (sooner or later).

Typical restaurant from a bygone era, well furnished and with music in line with the venue.
Rich and extensive menu, tasty dishes served with attention to both the plating and the quality of the raw materials. Kindness and courtesy of the service like we haven't seen for a long time. Congratulations to the managers. Councilors offer coffee and bitters as almost everyone does now.

tragic experience
I returned to this restaurant but evidently the ownership had changed as had the management
parked at a table in the square, in the midst of vehicular traffic (the bus arrives and ends), we were served with biblical slowness
fed up after an hour of waiting, we refused the second course and interrupted lunch having practically consumed the starter and the first course
place to forget

Location: beautiful, historic, very large with very comfortable chairs. Of course, if you are not politically aligned to the right, this place is not for you.
Food: appetizer consisting of battered and fried vegetables soaked in oil, not good, normal cured meats and mini portions of good plates; first we got some fettuccine with artichokes and bacon, one of the worst dishes I've eaten recently ever, they were floating on the oil and on top of battered fried artichokes to make everything even heavier. We stopped at those dishes since we didn't like anything about them.
Service: nothing to say about the service, kind and attentive.
Price: the bill also failed, an appetizer and a first course each with two bottles of house wine, two waters and 3 coffees, 35 euros each, for dishes as mentioned before that were insufficient.
I won't go back for sure.

Dragged by friends, I agreed to eat in a place that exudes horrible nostalgia. But politics has nothing to do with it here. This is about taste and belly (the physical one). And mine can only be a disappointment!!!!!!! Once upon a time the trains arrived on time, and perhaps the food was good. NOW NO LONGER'. Not recommended! In addition to the dislike of the welcome, there is the greasy and stereotyped cuisine, that is, constipated! But do we really always want to hurt ourselves? The area offers much more welcoming and tasty places!

We were lucky to be invited here by our friend who are locals for a private lunch
First the decor- all Mussolini memoria- it’s basically a shrine for him- totally interesting
Secondo- il cibo era squisito- abbiamo avuto minimo 10 different antipasti- all fresh & good & tasty. I primi piatti forse 6 different pasta dishes- all great
Main dishes- various grilled meats, salads
Some great wines, dessert, coffee, apertivi,
Our meal lasted more than 4 hours
Every aspect was just great
Buonissimo

Totally disagree with the comment below, some people they should stay on they own house if they are not open mind and not judge years of history because they think differently!
Every restaurant is different and complex, this one for me was an absolutely beautiful experience, a jump back into history, doesn’t matter if it is bad or good it’s still history!
The food was outstanding, service great!
Must try the antipasto, and the tortelli truffle!
See you next time!
A noi!

This place should be closed as italys has laws against apoligy of fascism. It is a shame and a disgrace that this place is allowed to stay open.

The food and service are outstanding here one of my favourite restaurants in the area. The decor is interesting with lots of memorabilia from the Mussolini era. The menu is small but all the options are local and seasonal you really cant go wrong here.

I went there while searching for a place close to the hotel where I was staying.
I wanted to eat pizza and got it: it was tasty and delicious, though not the usual kind of pizza you may have got used to. As an appetizer I chose a mixed salad and also ate a dessert. Last, a coffee.
Anyway, looking to what the other patrons were eating, I would have liked to backtrack and order something else because the food was really alluring.
Maybe it is a little expensive.
This is a theme-restaurant and the theme is Mussolini and the Fascism. You are warned!

Don't be pulled off by the Mussolini memorabilia and take it second degree. The food is great, as the Italians say "casareccia", tasty, generous protions and typical. In summer, you can sit in the garden and enjoy, antipasti, pizza and cold beer!!!

Fascinating treasure trove of Mussolini period mementos and excellent food. Lots of families eating here when we visited. Welcoming, excellent service and reasonable pricing.

Got to "Il Federale" with a colleague during a business trip, since our hotel was nearby. Unlucky for us, as it was overpriced, un-tasty, and even a bit scary.
The "scary" part is due to the countless pictures of Mussolini all over, waiters in black uniform and the severe hostess (which seemed like the owner). Although we were only asked for our preference for a main dish, we were bombarded by lots of primi piati, which we were not aware of initially, to a point where we didn't even have an appetite for the main dish and asked them not to serve it.
The starters were quite odd-tasting (and that's coming from someone willing to eat almost anything). The smoked salmon had lots of bones in it, the calamari was as chewy as a rubber imitation of it, and the salads were weirdly seasoned. The black risotto we got was mediocre, and the only starter which was good was the pasta. However, all these we're too much for starters, so even though we were two hungry grown men, we had to give up on the main dish.
The €70 bill topped our dinner, making it quite clear that we made the wrong choice for dinner. Simply not worth it.
The swastika outside made it clear - keep away.
