Went for a day trip to Gigha and thought we would stop off in Tarbert for lunch had a look around and decided to eat here. Menu is a reasonable size for lunch with a mixture of toasties etc and main meals and all well priced. Food was lovely large portions and service was good waitress was very friendly and... More

Had a great night out at this hotel/restaurant. The staff were friendly. The food was freshly cooked and the drinks reasonably priced. The room itself was cosy. Even though the tables are placed quite close together, you didn't feel as though it was an intrusion. I would definitely recommend it as a place to try the next time you are... More

Myself and a few friends came in for lunch the last Saturday in October. Food was pretty good and service excellent. 2 of us had the steak pie, filling and full of flavour. One had the mussels, a giant portion of fresh ones but not sure about the tomato bacon sauce. A tomato and chilli/white wine would have been better... More

A very warm welcome from the excellent receptionist/ barmaid set the standard for our weekend break. Room was compact but very well equipped, clean and fresh, lots of fluffy towels and a bed to encourage lingering but don't miss breakfast which is one of the best hotel breakfasts we have found anywhere in the world. Good selection of meals in... More

The staff could not have been more welcoming. High standard of food at both dinner and breakfast. Great rooms with all facilities you could need, lovely fluffy towels and free Wi-Fi. We would definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed at the Anchour hotel restaurant really good seafood: Fresh sauted scallops on black pudding and cauliflour mash - and the best freshly cooked mussels ever - in a delicious creamy carlic and white wine sauce. Good local ales in bottles available, nive choice of malts and blended whiskies. Friendly staff, good location. Would surely pop in again.

Visited for lunch when on holiday in area and the food was excellent. The paninis were good but the fish and chips were great. Looking around the restaurant most people were having the mussels in big buckets which looked delicious. Unfortunately I love them but they don't agree with me so I looked on enviously. Service was excellent. Highly recommend.

Hubby and I were here for the Tarbert music festival weekend and decided to splash out on a meal. We decided on the Anchor as it had been recommended, the food was great, contemporary menu and served quickly despite it being a busy weekend. I had langoustines to start followed by the duck, wonderful! Hubby had haggis and black pudding... More
