We were in Askrigg, which doubled as Darrowby in the TV series "All Creatures Great and Small"(1978-1990), and noticed from a sign in the village that the Kings Arms was filmed as The Drover's Arms during the series. So we had to go and have...More

Nice old style pub in a very picturesque village. We didn't eat in the restaurant but enjoyed a couple of hours in the pub chatting with locals and visitors, and it being warm and sunny sat outside in the courtyard. For those of you old...More

Dropped in yet again for another terrific lunch during a decent walk. Can recommend their hot beef baguette but ask for the Wensleydale traditional cheese to be added for a very special treat!!

Great little country pub, very welcoming. We visited on a Saturday night and got the last table in the restaurant as everything was reserved which is always a good sign! Good selection at both the bar and menu.

I have been to The Kings Arms a few times now, and never left disappointed. Formerly an 18th century coaching inn, and to be honest not much had changed since those times, thankfully! There's a huge imposing open fire place, the tack hooks hanging from...More

I don't know about the restaurant, but the menu in the bar is just fine, so even if you can't get into the restaurant with the dog, you will enjoy the pub.
Hi we are planning to visit the village over the weekend-is it best to book if eating around 6pm and do you allow a small dog. Thank you
