We were a group of 9 plus 3 kids and 2 babies, so we were a large group! Place is big enough to host this kind of groups and larger too. Food is local (cochinillo, cordero, etc) and is very good! They offer a wide variety of typical Spanish dishes and wines. After having lunch we went to the caves... More

Just called to reserve. Kind answer and fast. Food was really good. Service a bit slow. Anyway. Price and quality really good. Just take your time and climbe up the hill for a good taste. Recommended.

Food and taste can't win as the environment is so atmospheric, and you get the feeling you are one with tradition of the past.

We started with a guided tour around the place: there are caves, old artifacts that will help you understand everything about this place. We then ate dinner surrounded by this huge vats. The menu is especially designed and it is very Spanish, something that I really appreciated. The atmosphere was good. I really recommend this place and this little village.

Anyone who has the opportunity to visit the town of Chinchon, ca. 30 miles SE of Madrid, ought not to miss the opportunity to have a meal at the Meson Cuevas del Vino, not only as a culinary experience, but also as a unique cultural one as well. Chinchon itself is worth a visit due to its typical Castilian old... More

What a surprise to spend an evening at Meson Cuevas del Vino. Before the menu, which was a taste of typical Spanish dishes, we were allowed to explore the cellars where the wine used to be processed. Very impressive indeed and well worth a visit just to see how wine used to be made. We were given carafes of decent... More

Beautiful! The building is so interesting, please do yourself a favor and plan to spend plenty of time looking around before or after you eat. The staff was extremely friendly. We did not eat here, because we had already dined before stumbling on to the place. This was one of my favorite buildings places in Spain. The history of the... More

Chinchon is a pretty and unspoilt authentic spanish village set in the hills about an hour from Madrid. Most tourists end up here for a quick wander through the town and a meal (lunch or dinner) at one of the restaurants surrounding the main square (which also doubles as a bull-ring during the season - so be aware). However, I... More

We were taken here as part of an organised tour (based in Madrid). This was the only meal included in our week-long stay and I'm still mystified why they bothered. The restaurant is in and old wine store with huge earthenware pots in a warren of tunnels and caves which might be of interest to some. The set meal had... More

Chinchon is a fun place to visit, but finding a reasonably priced and good restaurant can be daunting. We stumbled on this one, Meson Cuevas del Vino, and were delightfully surprised. A bit pricey, and portions not overwhelming, but for a genuine Spanish meal, it was spot on. The rest of the facility, including the caves with old wine pots,... More
