Spent a lovely couple hours at La Base. Best passion fruit mojito I have ever tasted. I had the chicken curry and my husband had the grilled tuna, both were excellent. Friendly and smiling staff, a great place to watch the kite surfing action and...enjoy the hospitality.More

I loved my stay at La Base in Kiwengwa, the hosts Cristian and Maria are so friendly and helpful that i felt like being home. The structure is new, confortable and very clean, located at few meters from the beach. At the restaurant you will...find an amazing selection of local dishes mixed with the italian cuisine, while sitting on a table on the beach and enjoying the amazing view on the sea. Kiwengwa is a beautiful area to spend your holiday with friends or family and also a perfect starting point to visit the island, I wish I could have stayed more in this paradise! Thank you!!More

It’s a nice restaurant on the seaside, you can almost touch the see when it’s low tide when you sit here! Food is quite good, stuff is friendly. We had different food, I could recommend tuna fish here and very good mojito! 🧉

Visited La base Junglekite for a lunch. Our selection of the place was based on the rating. The selection of food as average for the area, with a few interesting bits in the menu. Unfortunately some 30% of the menu was not available so we...were limited to pasta and burgers. We have discovered that one of the salads is not coming only when the rest f the food has already arrived. The service s average slow. From the bright side - food is good quality and very tasty. Special attention to Bruscetta with avocado and shrimps - awesome.More

Spent five days in this corner of paradise and couldn’t ask for more: super nice accommodation in B&B format, rooms are modern, decorated with minimalistic style, silent and surrounded by green. The breakfast is served at “La Base” restaurant, very cozy terrace right on the...beach. The food is fresh, cooked and served with care, the staff is kind, available and ready to go the extra mile to make you feel at home. But the best part: the view! It’s my first time in Zanzibar so I can’t tell how it looks otherwise, but I’m having what I consider to be the privilege of seeing the island half empty, and it’s gorgeous. Endless beach, very few people, wild nature. Went running in the late afternoon through the whole Kiwengwa beach - some uninterrupted 10 km back and forth and it was mind-blowing. If you are looking for a safe, covid-free detox moment, I highly recommend to come find it here.More

I rarely write reviews but this time it is really deserved exception: FIRST OF ALL Cristian, Mary, Paola e Fede and the the local team are the very special ingredient of LA BASE. You come as a guest and you leave as a friend...trust me....PLACE A lovely sport-stylish set up, cool and chilled out atmosphere, a sweet patio with comfy couches and pouffes overlooking the long white sand beach. The restaurant has only a few handcrafted wooden tables, all open air where you can enjoy the breeze (or the wind) which is a pleasant top up. Food is just AMAZING, fresh and carefully presented (would recommend some of my favourite plates, but honestly I would have to list the whole menu!! ). Big breakfast with the best pancakes and fresh fruit. Drinks are outstanding (to the level of the best bar in Milan), sometimes even made on demand with heart, spirit and a big smile. Don't miss it!! KITE SCHOOL I'm less than a beginner, but attended the course. Fede, the teacher, was extremely dedicated and competent and patient (very needed skill....). I've learnt a lot in only a few hours with him and he encouraged me to go across my deepest fears, and he made it! Chapeau. B&B Brand new, a small white & green peaceful setting (feels a bit like in Merlose Place, in a few hours you become friends with anyone around, starting from the security guys always present and very kind). Rooms are spacious, simple and charmy, I loved the big door-window and the sand patch in front of the room. Less than 100 mt away from the restaurant and the star lights you see in those few meters are unbelievable.. I never go to the same place twice, but will definitely be my only exception. See you soon and THANK YOU!More

This place was a short walk along the beach from our hotel. According to Google map it was 0.5 k away. But that was by road. The location, upstairs above the Kite school is ideal for looking out over the beach and enjoying a beer...or a meal. Food is good, seafood and local and the staff attentive and friendly. Ideal relaxing spot.More

We visited on our first night in Kiwengwa on a recommendation, the setting is great and the view is awesome. We did have food, I wouldn’t say it’s the best in Kiwengwa but if you’re after easy, fast food then this is a good stop!

we chose this bar restaurant mainly because of the roof-top providing a good shelter from the beach boys along with a good view from the ground. food was nice, only the sea food carbonara seamed somehow ...strange, but everything else was nice. kind staff and...good shade during the afternoon.More
