We had a late dinner here on our last night in Honolulu. It was a beautiful evening and setting. The food was wonderful and the staff excellent.

This was our farewell meal in Honolulu before heading home, and we tried to do it up right. We had Sunday brunch at a wonderful table right on the beach, under two old hau trees - gnarled and tons of character - lots of opportunity for people-watching. Robert Louis Stevenson reputedly stayed there and wrote novels under the hau trees,... More

We had breakfast here once and lunch once. Both were very good, with friendly staff and good food. My hash browns at breakfast came with a fried banana on it as a surprise, the stuffed papaya at lunch was quite good with more fruits than I could handle. The price was good for the Waikiki area. The location is of... More

This is where we always go when ever we're on Oahu. They serve the best Eggs Benedict of anywhere I've been. The locale is right on the beach under these old beautiful Hau trees. Service is tack sharp with plenty coffee or juice. Enjoy a morning Bloody Mary or a Mimosa and watch the morning light wash over the beach.... More

What a beautiful and glamorous setting. . .if only the hotel would invest to maximize the potential. The service could be better and more professional and engaged and the food could and should be better to match the setting. Still, it's a wonderfully relaxing and lazy (if crowded) dining experience. We especially love breakfast.

My wife and I had a delightful sunset dinner last week at The Hau Tree Lania. Our table was at the wall that separates the tables from the beach. The activity on the beach did not distract from our enjoyment of our meal. Service was exceptional as servers carefully monitored our meals progress. The duck appetizer was superb. Our mains... The Hau Tree is not to be missed on your vacation to Waikiki. Located under the famous tree frequented by Hemingway the scenery is stunning. The service and meal were outstanding. Great staff.

Worth it to go here, just for the airy, outdoor atmosphere. Food is better elsewhere, but it's fine.

The restaurant was next door to where we were staying so we decided to give it a try. While we were not too particular about the seating, the hostess said that a beach-side table would be ready soon so we decided ok and went to the bar to wait. It did take a while, and to her credit she checked... More

Came here to dine and watch the sunset during our honeymoon stay in Honolulu and totally impressed! Incredible ocean view, fantastic food and outstanding service...right down to our waiter Alan taking very good pics of us with our good camera. Noticed him doing the same for other diners. Highly recommend! Seriously the food was amazing and the service and atmosphere... More
