Great food, average price for the area. Definitely worth it. I liked that it was nearby local attractions, so it was nice to be able to eat and relax after a day of sightseeing and we will absolutely come again

Great food, chowder is a must! Nice service and no reservation was required. Nice, attentive staff. The tables are very close together so your neighboring patrons can hear your conversation. Not very private. Location is easy to find in the middle of town. Will visit...More

We sat outside and enjoyed the many tourists buzzing around. The food was absolutely delicious. Only thing I recommend sitting outside, make sure you are sitting under an umbrella. Even though it was cloudy, the climate can be a little overwhelming.

I'm not a big lobster eater, but this was the place I wanted to try a good lobster. It did not disappoint. All the food that accompanied it was delicious as well, and the service very good. Nice, warm, enticing atmosphere.

Great stop as you stroll along Banisters Wharf. In the summer, check out the outdoor option for an afternoon libation

New Years weekend visit... all I can say is Newport is definitely different summer vs winter that's for sure, however having never visiting this establishment before it's hard to say if the issues were seasonal? Super crowded, "20 min wait" more like 40, young bartender...More

Well known touristy restaurant in Newport on the wharf. Good food and service. This was our second time here, this time for lunch {the last time for dinner}. Seems dependable and popular.

It was cold, and a bitter wind blew across the harbor. We reserved a table in the Commodore dining room where the dark wood gives the impression of an old tavern. We whiled away the evening enjoying good food and conversation in the spirit of...More

A must stop for Newport goers. Quaint, friendly, and cozy. A great staff with great food. Must try the clam chowder and garlic white wine mussels. Other menu items are delicious too but try the chowder first!

It's my understanding that the Tavern side is open for lunch and dinner, but the Commodore's Room only has dinner hours.
