Stopped on our way East toward Rochester. Husband wife team. Solid pub and grub. Great beer and whisky selection and all food home made. Good group of regulars coming to the bar. Worth a visit

Just a fantastic menu with excellent food and done well. I’ve worked in the restaurant business for 25 years both in the kitchen and on the floor and it can definitely be difficult for me to be impressed by both aspects. Just overall awesome! Homemade...pickled various vegetables, N.. Strip over pomme frittes cooked perfectly topped with Chimichuri. Rich duck poutine. Marrow noodle 🍜 bowl. Go here. Please!❤️❤️❤️More

So we selected this establishment based on purley scientific criteria...it was the closest bar to our hotel:) To put things mildly, we were incredibly surprised by the food preparation and the attention to detail by the bartender and of course our server, Shelby. The restaurant...smokes the meat they use in their meals but does not really make much of the magic that the kitchen actually works. The roasted pork loin had subtleties of a 5 star Michelin establishment and the experience only got better with their house made potato salad and the other house specialties that we had during our two separate visits. If you are a Scotch drinker, pair the Pork Belly Burnt Ends with Glenfiddich 0 trus me on this one. If you want to experience a 75-year-old local wonder, give this place a try if you are in the Buffalo area.... just be careful on the front stairs...More

My husband and I went for a date at winfield’s and decided with ease that it was our new favorite place. Easy to make reservations, beautiful table by the window in what felt like a private little nook, awesome menu, beautifully prepared and delicious food,...and incredible service. We even met the owner, Cheryl, who came by to see how everything was. Between us, we ordered a stormy sails cocktail, a bottle of rosé, the pork belly appetizer, the sirloin with vegetables, the roasted chicken with vegetables, and lemon blueberry creme brûlée to end our meal. We can’t say enough about our experience and can’t wait to come back !More

I have been recommending this place to everyone for years. Such a GEM in Lackawanna/West Seneca/South Buffalo!! Thomas always makes you feel at home while giving you a tasty beverage. And Cheryl is always bringing some delicious food to the table or a quick chat!...This place does get VERY busy and when it does it shows a little, please try to visit this place when it is quieter you will enjoy it so much more! Food is always on point, drinks are always perfect and the charm of the place and people is always just right. Seriously if you are even anywhere near this place, stop in and check it out.More

Great food and bar, at fair prices. Duck poutine was awesome. Lamb burger was terrific. I order it medium, which it was, but should have ordered medium-rare. Home made chips at the bar with an amazing choice of spirits from around the world. Bartender knew...how to match tastes personal favorites. Reservation needed on weekends.More

used to go to Winfield's quite regularly when they first opened. They used to have the best veggie burger. Went there the other night after their 9 star review. They were very busy as they should have anticipated, but unfortunately for them, they were understaffed....Luckily we found an open table and the waitress was pleasant but the food took quite a long time. We each had coffee and asked for more cream which they ran out of. Staffer went to store to purchase more and by the time she returned my coffee was cold. I ordered the veggie burger and it was served cold and wasn't as tasty as I remember. When the check came the beverage total was a whopping $ 7.00 for 2 cups of coffee...OUCH! Lombardo's on Hertel doesn't charge that. I did question the cost and the waitress said, " you get free refills". Good-bye Winfields. Cold coffee, no cream = $ 3.50 a cup!! that's insane. Should have ordered a beer.More

While in town for a funeral we were looking for a place for dinner and happened upon Winfield’s Pub. It doesn’t look like much form the outside but is cute inside. We were there on a Friday night and had no idea (since we were...form out of town) that we really needed a reservation. When I checked us in the hostess said they were booked for the evening. We walked outside and within a minute the hostess opened the door and aid the had a large group that hadn’t shown up and they were going to open up their table for us. We were very happy. The menu is limited but my two companions wanted the Friday fish fry. It was cod with a very thin batter which they both thought was very good. The fries were a slight disappointment. It their coleslaw was also very good. I had the chicken sandwich which was moist and very good. We all thought Winfield’s was. Service a bit slow but they were very busy. A Great find.More

Winfield's Pub came to us HIGHLY recommended. We had a reservation for 4 at 7pm on a Friday night. After arriving we were told we would have to wait for a table. We sat ourselves at a few open stools at the bar. We waited...about 20 minutes for our table. We ordered appetizers, (BBQ pork belly burnt ends and the tator tots). Our apps took what felt like an eternity to come. I tasted the pork, and it was just ok. Smoke flavor was very intense, so not for me, but my husband enjoyed it. The tator tots were just ok. Our entrees took even longer to come out. We ordered 2 of the noodle bowls, a Sirloin Filet, and a cheeseburger. The cheese burger was good, the noodle bowls were not what expected (more like stew) and just ok tasting, and the steak was way under seasoned, however it was cooked to the perfect temp. We were never offered more water and had to ask when we wanted it. It's a small place, with not many tables, and there was 3 servers that we saw. It seemed like everything was running behind, however I'm assuming it was because of the kitchen. Unfortunately however much I wanted to love this place, we will not be returning.More

After reading all the positive reviews and having a friend give raving reviews, I decided to go to Saturday night dinner there with a couple of friends. Sadly, we were all underwhelmed. It doesn’t have a dark, aged “pub” feel; it’s modern with varying shades...of grey (which is the current trend). Several flat-screen TVs blaring over the bar, and don’t take anyone elderly as the front steps are not to code - very steep with varying heights of concrete slabs. The dining area is adjacent to the bar with no divider element, and the restroom is literally in between tables in the dining area. Service was great, and I definitely side with the owner’s post addressing the people who complained about the owner/staff telling them to manage their children. It’s a bar/restaurant, your kids shouldn’t be running around inside! We split an order of the duck poutine fries - a lot of good gravy over a bed of fries with crumbled cheese and precious little duck,($13). It was certainly enough for 3 people to split, and it was okay, but fries, gravy and cheese curds shouldn't cost $13. We were expecting a few slices of duck breast on top, not a few bites of shredded duck meat (which gave a “pulled pork” element to the dish). Dinner was 1 order of the pork & pasta bowl ($23) which was tasty and well-presented. Then 2 of us got the char broiled NY strip. That was a disappointment. ☹️ Over-salted strip steaks served over an over-salted bed of fries. ($23 ea). The steaks were cooked to order, (well & med-rare), but the presentation was lousy. No dinner salad, no vegetable, no garnish. They were sold-out of the Guinness chocolate cake at 6:30 p.m. ☹️ So 1 appetizer, 1 soda, 1 Irish Coffee and 3 entrees = $99.58 (not including tip) for 3 people. Pricey. You can get dinner for 2 including appetizer, soup or salad, entree, coffee bar & 2 desserts at Russell’s for $39.99 The wait staff was great, and we didn’t have to wait a long time for our food. I’m glad we tried it, but we left and headed to Charlap’s for dessert. .More
