Went for my second time to Alley on Main. This place is so overrated. I just don't see what people see in it. I ordered a craft beer, which came out just slightly above room temperature. Next came my salad, which was pure chopped up...iceberg lettuce, two small red onion pieces, and two cherry tomatoes. Not bad, but I've had better salads at Toots. I ordered lasagna. Also...average. They must be buying their lasagna from Gordon Foods. Tasted just like theirs. Others in our party of six were also remarking on the average quality. One person ordered one of the daily specials, hot chicken. I had a bite of it...too hot to eat (and I like spicy hot food). Along side it came literally two heads of broccoli...al dente...literally enough to feed the whole table. Ended up being mostly thrown out. Waste of food and money. Service was good this time, although the food service person gave us all pause as she did not have control of the drinks or later food on her tray as it teetered over our table. Oh, and the a/c ducting was dripping on our table. Same thing the last time I was there, maybe two years ago. This time, I won't be back. Just not worth it. Nothing terrible, but certainly nothing special. I agree with the below poster, what is the fuss about Alley on Main all about!More

Loved this place. Quite busy on a Tuesday at 6 pm. Had to wait 35 min but was worth it. All of the staff were extremely friendly!!! Food was outstanding and reasonably priced. Cocktails were unusual and delicious!!! Recommend highly !!!

We had dinner at Alley on Main last week. I so no Covid precautions. No staff was wearing a mask. The tables were very close together. The waiting area and bar area were very crowded. I asked for an outside table but the wait would...have been over an hour. I was really shocked at what I saw! The fillet was really good and so was the salad. The green beans were terribly salty. The service is really spotty. The servers seem to be mostly college age people. I hope cant help but wonder how many have had or will get Covid from that environmnet.More

Very popular place with locals and tourists alike. The food (grilled trout and salmon salad) were both delicious. Service was great too. Had nice wine list and several craft beers plus domestics. Had inside seating, patio seating, and picnic tables on the lawn. Prices were...reasonable.More

My family and I were looking for a good burger. I do what I always do and look it up! We found a couple of places on The Square in Murfreesboro. It was heads/tails. We picked The Alley. It was the best! I didn’t expect...much and was blown away by the quality of service and the quality of the food. Even my picky eating son ate everything. I had the Wildberry Mojito. Delicious! We drove in from the neighboring county. We were not disappointed! I wish I could remember the name of the young man that waited on us. His customer service skills were spot on. What a hidden gem! And Funny. None of us got hamburgers. :) Highly recommend!More

This place is always busy with long lines of patrons waiting outside. We finally went on a weekday at 4:30 pm to beat the dinner crowd. There were 4 groups in front of us as no one was manning the hostess station. After 15 minutes...someone came over. Wait time was not long for a table. Had no idea the waiting started after you sat down. They were fully staffed but it seemed very chaotic and didn't flow smoothly. There was a lot of standing around and chit chatting . Time that could have been better spent. It was as if no one was in charge. We waited 10 minutes before anyone came to our table, another wait to order the calamari appetizer, completely tasteless. When it came time to order we were given a list of things they were out of. My husband ordered the fried chicken, big mistake as Puckett's is across the street and has the best fried chicken! He had to peel off the outside as it was greasy and had no flavor. We waited half an hour for drinks and had our water refilled once. All in all we were there a grueling hour and 45 minutes and left hungry. So, like I said, have no idea what the fuss is about and will not go back.More

My husband and I both had a fabulous dinner here seated at the bar, which was so much fun watching the bartenders in motion and a portion of the kitchen. We both had the shrimp appetizers which were fabulous and crispy, then a good salad...with blue cheese dressing, then the really fabulous fried catfish. We ended our meal with the bourbon ice cream special, and it was fabulous! The Manhattan was perfectly prepared, and the wine prices are excellent. This restaurant is right downtown, with tons of free parking nearby. Highly recommend.More

Enjoyed a delightful lunch with friend. Fish special was very good. I would not order the Birthday cake again. Nothing special.

As a visitor from UK I found the prices to be in line with most good budget restaurants. What was more important was that the quality and service was excellent. A great example of southern cuisine.
