Tired of New Mex food? Go Italian to Piccolo's in Santa Fe. We had a delicious dinner there tonight...beet and goat cheese salad (large enough to feed 2) with very tasty vinaigrette , lamb shank with pasta and vegetables, and shrimp and scallops with linguini in a cream sauce with tomatoes and fresh mushrooms. Yummy tiramisu as well. Portions are... More

During a stay in Santa Fe we wanted a change from the "Green or Red" chili-flavored New Mexican fare and wanted some Italian comfort food. We did a search and came across this family restaurant which is a favorite with the locals. It is outside town and in an out-of-the-way location. The building appears to have been a fast-food place... More

Customer service was excellent. Friendly and courteous service. Small neighborhood locally owned restaurant serving great food. Every item on the menu stands on its own for taste and presentation. Atmosphere is simple down to earth, not so much fine dining. Prices are reasonable and you get your monies worth. Overall experience was great. We dine here as often as we... More

We visited this restaurant because it seemed popular. We had tried to find The Kitchen but didn't drive far enough, so we went in here instead. The place was full so we thought we would eat well. Here was the catch--there are many restaurants that thrive on large servings of food, that reflect little thought or preparation. There are customers... More

We were told to dine at this fabulous little restaurant and to be there before 6:00 to get a table. Boy they weren't kidding. We arrived at 5:45 and by 6:00 the place was packed. Best meatballs and Chicken green chili lasagna ever. The salad was large enough to feed the whole table.

Avoid this restaurant if you are vegetarian. They said everything has neat in it and they won't accommodate vegetarians in any way. They acted like I was crazy. We waited over an hour and ordered only to be informed there was nothing for vegetarians. They wouldn't even try. My child was very hungry and they served him plain penne. Ugh.

Needed pasta before a race and read about this off the beaten path place. Waited about 20min on a Saturday night. Excellent service, fast and attentive. You get a basket of focaccia pieces with marinara. Had spaghetti and 2 giant meatballs for $10.75. Worth the adventure finding it. Small parking lot and they do have carry out

We went here for lunch recently, and were pleasantly surprised by the variety of Italian classics on the menu, and the quality and quantity of the food. The restaurant is in a converted fast food place, and has basic, simple décor, with views into the tight kitchen. The lunch menu features a selection of Italian standards which varies by day... More than anywhere else in town, we end up at Piccolo's for dinner. It's in an unassuming standalone building next to a gas station in a modest neighborhood, but the food is consistently good, the prices are very reasonable, and the owners, who are from Mexico, really know how to cook a wide variety of Italian dishes - and all... The smells from the kitchen was better than the food we tasted. The presentation was very nice, but when you started eating it you hoped that it would start to taste better, but it didn't. If we can't a better Italian restaurant I will wait until we go to ABQ for good Italian restaurants. I've yet to find a good... More
