My husband and I came upon this restaurant while meandering down Canyon Road. It is very easy to miss and we only noticed the sign because we had stopped to cross the street! It was lunchtime and we were hungry and once I checked my TripAdvisor app, I knew we were in for a treat! Upon entering, we both felt... More

I have eaten here several times but this year we had a large group go for Restaurant Week. I was disappointed with the menu and the food. I had the grits and shrimp and it was average - nothing exciting. Others had short ribs which were good but not great. Expected more than we got.

We were so excited to go to The Compound for restaurant week in Santa Fe. I must say that the meal was lackluster and certainly not anything that I would expect from a restaurant of this renown. The shrimp in my shrimp and grits were tiny little ones that I could've bought in the frozen food department at Safeway. Really... More

The Compound has a reputation as being in the expensive/excellent class of restaurants here in Santa Fe. We have been to most of the others, but it took 4 years to try this. Food is #1 for me....and, when prices are very high, my expectations are also high. So, the pastrami was a bit disappointing. But, let me be more... More

We have lunch or dinner at The Compound several times a year. The food is delicious and the service is perfect. In addition, the restaurant itself is beautiful.

My soup of potato and leak arrived in a ceramic container to be poured on the empty dish which only inhabitant was a little round toast covered in some kind of cream or... More

The Compound's Beef Tenderloin with Foie Gras and Béarnaise Sauce is out of this world. Excellent service; extensive wine list. The only disappointment was the Creme Brulee.

We really enjoyed this restaurant which is one of our friends' favorites. The four of us enjoyed dinner on a quiet night. We all had the cider-brined pork loin and every one of us thought it was fantastic. The service was great - very personable. Although this was a quiet time for this popular restaurant, there were a few people... More

Description
Mark Kiffin, celebrated chef, owner, and author of the Compound Restaurant, has won the James Beard Foundation award as one of America's Best Chefs. The Compound is Santa Fe's premier restaurant with Chef Kiffin's acclaimed seasonal Contemporary American cuisine derived from Santa Fe's rich heritage of regional and Mediterranean influences. The New York Times, Gourmet magazine, The Wall Street Journal and Wine Spectator have all selected the Compound as Santa Fe's favorite. Equally impressive is the attentive, highly knowledgeable and friendly staff. Chef Kiffin's menus focus on the exclusive changes in seasons such as hearty braised dishes in the fall and winter using apples, pears and cider from local harvests, osso bucco and porcini risotto while in spring and summer feature fresh local vegetables and naturally raised organic lamb and delectable strawberries.
