El Meson has been on our list of restaurants to try since we moved to the area almost two years ago. We heard mixed reviews from our acquaintances and finally made reservations joined by another couple from the Netherlands. The food was good, the service was good but we expected more "Spain." The restaurant was furnished in heavy, rustic and... More

El Meson is two restaurants. One side is a normal restaurant; the other is the bar with a jazz stage, and that is where I go. Best to reserve a table for jazz nights. I've been there three times, and the tapas, wine and jazz were all outstanding.

We were recommended El Meson on a spontaneous meeting on a chairlift in Taos, for our one night stay in Santa Fe. We booked in advance, which was also recommended. A lovely place, with an open bar on one side, and live music, and a more secluded restaurant area in a room on the other side. It had been a... More

This is a wonderful place within walking distance of the plaza with wonderful food, music and dancing. I was recently there and enjoyed the three faces of jazz trio. Wonderful musicians, all of them. The tapas are also spectacular. I could smell the garlic shrimp when I walked in the door and my companion and I promptly ordered that along... More

I had dinner here and had fantastic grilled mushrooms (setas a la plancha). The olives and gambas al ajillo were reasonably good. The service was phenomenal. Some of the best in the city. It's worth a trip.

The seafood paella this time was very bland and disappointing for it's lack of flavor. The sangria was mostly ice. Service was good on a fairly busy night.

We had a great dinner with 5 star service. Kitchen seemed to be well run, and waiters were very knowledgeable. Best courses were salads, paella, and the fried artichoke. The bar was packed with a great jazz band .

We wanted an authentic Spanish style restaurant and El Meson was delightful. Our server was perfect...the wine selection was good..there are tapas to choose from or entrees if you prefer. The 3 tapas we picked arrived nicely cooked and very attractively presented. Good portions too. A soup we ordered came steamy and well seasoned. A very nice evening in a... More

Have been to El Meson quite a few times and I am always impressed with food and staff. The paella is fantastic and Chef David always has wonderful unique specials nightly. We always end with a nice port and head out out for a nice stroll around the Plaza,
