When the restaurant changed ownership a few years ago its reputation declined. Then Rob came out of retirement once again and resumed ownership. We had eaten here many times during his "first term". The food, service and ambience are all excellent and you get a first class dining experience for somewhat less than a high end Santa Fe restaurant delivers.... More

We are at the Galisteo Bistro last night and it was delicious as always. We started off with the duck pate. Nicely accompanied by chopped onions, pickles and roe. For entrees I had a nice shrimp salad with orzo and my husband had the Hanger steak with green chiles. We were both pleased with our meal and especially the atmosphere.

This place came highly recommended. The atmosphere was great the food not so much. Avoid the "hanger" steak..it's tough, filled with stringy connective tissue, and of poor quality. They only offer this cut of beef--the do not offer a ribeye or filet... The veggies were decent. A chain steakhouse would have been just as good and half the price.

What can one add to perfection? The Bistro was small, intimate, with maybe twenty tables of varying size. The lighting was intimate. We both started out with their crab/ shrimp cake served on a bed of greens with a simple lemon aioli. It was fabulous, smooth and dense flavors on the inside, with a bit of crispness on the outside.... More

We enjoyed a delicious dinner as a family celebrating an important occasion. Ordered the hanger steak, oyster stew, seafood pasta and tapas. Food was delicious and well presented. Serving size could be a bit larger for the prices. Wait staff was attentive in the beginning but less so as the meal progressed. Flourless chocolate cake was a perfect finish to... More

IN MY OPINION, THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST RESTAURANTS IN SANTA FE! I have had the Oyster Shooters and the oyster Stew, Both were very good. My entree was the Seafood Pasta with lots of seafood in it! My wife had the Beet Salad. She thought it was very well prepared. They have a full bar with excellent wines.... More

This little bistro is full of charm, amazing staff and outstanding food. The food was so fresh. The stake was tender with lots of flavor. The lamb was outstanding. The dessert was rich yet light, perfect for two.

Staying in Santa Fe for one night....did not want a meal that stuffed us. Found this restaurant because of its tapas menu. We were able to get a good bottle of wine, several tapas offerings and a salad that more than satisfied us. The waitstaff was outstanding and helped us with the ordering and suggested items based on size. A... More

Finding a restaurant on a Friday night without a dinner reservation can be a little tricky. We Got in early and the place filled up not even 30 minutes later. the service was good service and the food great. The open kitchen format was entertaining without being intrusive. The Chef obviously enjoyed his work and spent time with customers.

Unpretentious yet elegant, the Galisteo Bistro has become a new favorite. The servers are charmingly friendly and helpful without being overbearing. The food is artfully prepared, artfully presented and absolutely wonderful. They offer an excellent selection of wines to suit most tastes and budgets. The deserts were equally outstanding. In short, a very worthwhile stop for anyone that appreciates good... More
