This place certainly has mixed reviews. Ours is not one of the good ones. We stopped by since they had outdoor tables. The person taking orders at the window was nice, but not wearing a mask. We ordered fried oysters and fish and chips. Fries...were brown like we like, but not terribly crisp. My oysters were on the small side, overcooked and over-battered. Included with my oysters were 3 oyster shaped blobs of burned batter. Did that mean that 3 of my oysters were still floating around in the oil? Most fried oysters come breaded, not battered and that is how they should be. Fish was again over-browned. The pieces were really thick and seemed spongy rather than flaky which I think indicated they were under-cooked. Were they battering frozen fish? Don't honestly know how else to get brown but under-cooked, otherwise maybe the oil was too hot. Anyway food was OK, and the day was lovely.More

We wanted a local local place, this is where we were told. Place is local funky, and folks are nice. Good place to grab breakfast. You're typical diner type place. Glad we went, but I don't think I would have gone for lunch or dinner...lots...of other places to try.More

With its rather tired 1950s decor, overworked servers and seemingly unavoidable wait for seating, you wouldn't think this was the place to go for breakfast--but it is! Ideally located right by the entrance to the ferry waiting lot, it serves very tasty and well-priced food....My group ordered traditional dishes like bacon, eggs and hashbrowns and everyone was happy. It seems like the kitchen, tables and the food itself are clean and wholesome but be prepared for a bathroom that needs a good scrubbing. This place is popular so we've always waited a few minutes for a table, but it hasn't been a problem. If raining, bring your umbrella because there is no shelter outside. They claim to be "the place" for fish and chips so if you're there at lunch time, give it a try.More

Just finished having lunch here. What can I say, the staff were quite rude and seemed annoyed even though it was slow. Perhaps too many tourists? I had grilled cod. Quite overcooked and smelled a bit old. Everything was quite greasy . More than you’d...expect. It’s fine if you’re super hungry and have nowhere else to go. Or, you have to catch the ferry and have a little time. The best part about this place? Sitting outside on the picnic table in the sun. If you’d like to have something good and healthy, there are a lot better options up and down the street. 😀More

Server was polite enough but someone came from the back and was very rude about my child drinking a beverage they didn't serve...had we not already ordered we would have left...food was lackluster for the cost. The fries were overcooked and soggy. From the management...attitude towards children and the cost, I'm sure there are better options at Friday Harbor.More

We stopped by before the ferry back to Anacortes. It is located just above the ferry line up. It has a 50s decor. It looked like a lot of locals at the restaurant before work. The service was friendly and fast. The breakfast was hot,...big, and tasty. We would have returned but it was our last day.More

We went here for lunch because of previous good experiences. We ordered a Rueben and a Monte Cristo sandwich. The Rueben was perhaps the worst I've had. The was so much dressing what little shredded corned beef and sauerkraut there was ran out, over my...hand and onto the plate. I could hardly see any meat on the sandwich. What I did eat, about half the sandwich, had no Rueben flavor and was very unappetizing. The huge pile of fries that came with the sandwich appeared to have been cooked and reheated more than once. They were dark brown saggy and tasteless. My wife's Monte Cristo was greasy while simultaneously very dry. We will not go there again. And, side note, when we left we walked by the outside of the kitchen and saw entry and floor were black with old grease. The place is for sale, we hope new owners can bring back the good food.More

Known for their fish and chips and a great burger with fresh-cut fries. Located right about the ferry parking lot. They also have a super omelette for breakfast that includes toast, sausage or bacon, and hash browns! Great value for the money!

So we came here looking for good old fashioned fried seafood for dinner. I truly don’t understand some of these other reviews, as fried food is the name of the game here. What you DON’T want in fried seafood is a thick greasy battered meat....This is opposite of that. The fish and scallops have a thin beer battered crispy exterior and there isn’t a bunch of grease dripping when you bite into it. In my opinion... perfectly done! The fries are hand-cut skin on potatoes that I think are the very best kind. Again, not a bunch of grease in each bite. The restaurant also has some salads and burgers and sandwiches to choose from. This place gets 5 stars because it met or exceeded my expectations in every aspect... service, menu options, and food quality. Apparently these other reviewers were wanting a high class meal in a rustic hole-in-the-wall seafood restaurant.More

We enjoyed the location because we could watch for the ferry to arrive while our car was in line. We also were sucked in by their sign that said “World Famous Fish and Chips”, but should’ve asked how they got that designation. Trust me, NOT...the worlds best fish and chips. Perhaps they are famous for not being great. The fish itself is not seasoned, only the batter had seasonings. The fries were limp, the cole slaw tasteless, but kind servers. Plus, they were out of clam chowder and onion rings:-(More

Nice location right next to the ferry. Staff are friendly but most of the food is fried and just average in flavors. The milkshakes are huge.

I would recommend calling them and letting them know. They may not be aware. I do know they open very early as the people that are catching the red eye or very early morning ferry would have somewhere to eat. I am not sure... More
