close to Hotel Valencia, food was great and the young lady server was great, not only in helping us chose our food but a great ambassador for San Antonio

We were staying at a nearby hotel, and chose Acenar for dinner. Cannot say too much about the incredible prickly pear margarita, without question the best margarita I've ever had. Dinner was a delicious citrus salad and a chile relleno. The décor was pretty basic but airy and enhanced by the proximity to the river.

Called and got a same day reservation for 20 people. Staff was friendly and sensitive to the needs of some elderly family members. Food was excellent and atmosphere is classy. I would highly recommend for a large group.

Acenar is located on the Riverwalk and I was seated outside, so had a lovely view while enjoying my dinner. I had the short rib tacos, which were outstanding - melt-in-your-mouth delicious and not too spicy. The prickly pear margarita was very, very good, as were the chips and salsa. Service was quick and I had a great time.

Wanting a table on the patio, I was given one right next to the doors where the wait staff came in & out, and did so at a constant pace. My waiter said all the right words but seemed in different to my dining experience and disappeared for long stretches of time. I had to ask for a napkin &... More

Fun time with family. Food was tasty and the margaritas were very good. They add a tip on for large parties which we didn't feel was necessary. But a good stop non the less

Very good first night meal for a long weekend in San Antonio. My friend and I each had the Hand Shaken Margarita which was very good but a bit overpriced for the quality. My buddy had the Enchilada Mole' which he enjoyed. I had the Short Rib Tacos which were delicious. I would eat here again.

If you have a choice eat on the terrace. I enjoyed the enchilada verdes, good flavor, served hot. It is a popular place to eat outdoors along the riverwalk. I like the terrace seating above the walk.

We had sat down for dinner, and got our chips and salsa. My husband asked (as he always does) "can I get some heat?" Usually the waitstaff will ask "Tabasco?" And He will respond with a yes. This time the waitress said "We have a house made dip, it's 1.95?" We looked at each other, eyebrows up. Special hot sauce?... More

This is an expensive Mexican food buffet in a fancy hotel. This is San Antonio. I've got little dives all over town that don't have the atmosphere but have much better Mexican food for much lower price. They try to be "authentic," but I found the food to be rather plain. Go have breakfast or lunch a couple of blocks... More
