Can't leave San Antonio, without taking back home some homemade tortillas from Alamo Cafe. The fajitas and queso are also great!

I drop in to San Antonio about once a year to visit family when I am taking a break from my many travels. The one place our family has made a tradition when I come home is the Alamo Cafe. There is a decent amount of parking with handicapped spaces in the front which is needed for my Mother. The... More

We had not been to Alamo Café in over five years and it did not disappoint. The food is still delicious and hot! I recommend the Puffy Tacos and be sure to eat one of the fresh made tortillas when they are brought to the table. The tortillas are being made in the front of the restaurant as you enter... More

We had a large group (14), so I'm willing to cut this place a little slack. But one person waited over 15 minutes longer than the rest of us for dinner. Most of us were done with our dinners by the time that he was served. And he ordered the same thing that several others had ordered. I don't think... More

The best thing in this huge restaurant is the fresh tortillas. Drinks, chips & salsa were OK. Don't get the sangria. Margarita was good. Tamale was dry. Grilled fish taco and chile relleno were quite good. Michelle was the best. She gave great recommendations.

The food was very good and brought out in only 12-15 minutes even though the restaurant was very busy. Good chips and salsa and we couldn't stop eating the flour tortillas. Overall the meal was inexpensive for two people. We will definitely be back!

Wow! Has this place fallen. Food was medicore, at best and to top it off - it was COLD! Since it took soooooo long to get it, in the first place, I wasn't about to send it back. Server wasn't very efficient. Just an extremely disappointing experience and the worst I've ever had, here (and we have been here, many,... More

Every time I'm in San Antonio, my first stop is always the Alamo Cafe. They have the best beef fajitas I've ever had! Their homemade tortillas with melted butter are also amazing. If you're looking for a true Tex-Mex experience, look no further and just head to the Alamo Cafe - you won't be disappointed!

Any and every time we're in San Antonio, we must visit the Alamo Cafe, right off of 281. They have remodeled the front entrance and added an outdoor patio and restaurant area that looks like it easily seats an additional 100 people, so nice for those busy weekends! We were there the day before Thanksgiving, so no crowds for us.... More
