My wife and I found ourselves at Il Sogno by accident, upon finding "Supper" at the Hotel Emma temporarily closed for refurbishment. We couldn't have been happier to have made this discovery. An authentic Italian capable of making even the most mundane-sounding dishes utterly delicious (the grilled mixed vegetable starter being a great example) with an excellent wine list and... More

A friend told me about this little gem and it didn't disappoint. Before making reservations I did read the reviews posted here referencing stuffiness and the inability for folks arriving early to be shown to tables etc. I really didn't experience any of that type of behavior at all. My wife, daughter and I did arrive about 10 mins early... More

Il Sogno has been one of my favorite Italian restaurants in San Antonio for years. Unfortunately, this last weekend we showed up for dinner to celebrate my birthday. We had reservations and showed up about 15 minutes early. We were coldly greeted by the hostess and told that we would need to wait before we could be seated because we... More

Following a highly successful French restaurant (Le Reve) and a very popular fish and seafood place (Sandbar), Chef Andrew Weissman continues to impress with this Italian edition of his international skills. The place is quite informal and is usually packed, noisy, bustling and exciting. The variety of small plates are attractive enough to make a meal, but don't neglect the... More

My husband and I have dined at Il Sogno several times over the years. This time we decided to give it a try because we were staying at a hotel within walking distance, and it was his birthday. I called a couple times to confirm the reservation and to make sure they knew we were coming for my husband's birthday.... More

We were able to sneak in without a reservation but I wouldn't recommend doing so, it was very busy and many people who showed up after us were turned away (also it was getting late). The service was lovely and our server was helpful, eager, and had a knack for showing up the second you needed anything. The venison was... More

Visited San Antonio for Thanksgiving and ended up in the Pearl Brewery district. It is a newly renovated area extension of the Riverwalk that is a must see. I have been to San Antonio for many years as my in-laws live there, but this was my first opportunity visiting this area. We ended our trip having brunch at Il Sonos... More

I'm a local in San Antonio. Andrew Weissman is my favorite chef in Texas and there's a good reason. Tonight we ordered fried calamari and the waiter told us we didn't need a sauce with it unless we just wanted it. He was right. It was absolutely fabulous without any additions. I ordered the scallops because any fish Andrew touches... More

I loved this restaurant with very authentic Italian food. It's a lovely building and has simple chic architecture and design. Signage is bright red so if you're in the area --The Pearl District area, it's easy to find. Good service too.

In six days of staying in San Antonio, this was the best restaurant we ate at. Beautiful antipasti and extraordinarily well prepared and sauced branzno.
