OK, it was a Sunday at noon, but omg, this was the slowest service place I've ever been to, with no exaggeration! The food was mediocre. Noticing people around me, one dish was brought out at a time, after a long wait, with another long wait for your partners meal. Seemed like a lot of returned dishes for mistakes, too.... More

Decent portions, food service, food a bit bland, expensive for the area. They could use a little something more.

We stopped in for lunch based on the Yelp rating, and waited for over 40 minutes for what turned out to be very average sandwiches...like Subway, but $3 more. I guess this place is known for breakfast, but I think they could put forth a little more effort on lunch.

First, the attendant had a great attitude. Even though we were undecided on what to order. We were not rushed. I ordered the vegetarian "omelet"; made Spanish tortilla style which is with all the vegetables mixed in with the eggs and cook as a whole in a pan. It came out fluffy and tasty and hot. Our second order included... More

My family and I enjoyed a fabulous Sunday brunch here. I highly recommend the brisket & egg breakfast taco. YUMMY!!! But the pancakes & other sweet treat are also to die for!!! :0). Not only was the good outstanding, so was the service. The staff treated my entire family, including our dogs, like royalty. We didn't want to leave. I... More

Very interesting place, with buildings that look like typical Mexican buildings. The service and the food served are not so good. I was poorly attended in some places by American standards. However it's worth the visit.

Sister in law told us about La Villita Cafe se we decided to give it a try. Staff was friendly. The food was brought out to our table in less than 15 minutes. One of the things I ordered was not the right one but they were very apologetic about it and brought our correct order out. We were not... More

Don't waste your time or $$. Find something else, plenty nearby. We ordered 4 tacos and 40 minutes later had to go ask manager why no food....."We've been busy" was answer. So I cancelled order. They credited as should have, and just then tacos came up so they gave them w/o cost. Will never bother again.

Freezing day in San Antonio, strolled to La Villita and not much was open. This cafe was so decided to have some breakfast.BAD DECISION! Ordered two poached eggs which came out served on cold lettuce leaves. I did think this was rather odd as the eggs were rather cold but it got weird when I retrieved from my poached egg... More

We arrived at La Villita cafe early on our last day at the Riverwalk. We'd enjoyed our tour of La Villita a couple of days beforehand, and had tried to have lunch at the cafe (the most convenient/relatively inexpensive eatery in La Villita), but the lines were so long that we would have had to wait for what looked like...
