Loved the atmosphere and the friendly greeting we received. Bianca was our server and was exceptional from start to finish. My son and I had fish and chips and wife at Blt (brisket) sandwich and it was huge. Food was exceptional as well. Not inexpensive...but I thought it was a good value for what we got. I’ll certainly mark it as a must return destination.More

Pot roast sandwich - tender meat , but very dry meat and roll. Cowboy steak was ok. flavor nothing outstanding. Chicken salad- lots of lettuce. Nothing here to get excited about, except the service was very nice.

Hifalutin is a gem of an unassuming steak house on upper Oracle road in nw Tucson. A cozy atmosphere, friendly servers, quiet ambiance, but classy. Featuring comfortable tables and booths but not too close together, a wide ranging menu specializing in beef, but plenty of...fowl, pasta, fish, tex mex coming with a variety of wines and full liquor bar. Three of us shared Galveston oysters cold and shucked to perfection with fresh horse radish to cleanse the palet sinuses and everything in between. The hacienda cheese crisp layden with multiple mexican cheeses diced tomatoes is a must. Will feed the entire table. Great appetizer. For dinner we had the rib eye, flank steak and grilled mexican prawns. Plentiful portions all done exactly as ordered, and served quickly. Fresh vegetables and either garlic mashers or baked potato accompany each entree. All cooked to perfection: tasty. Well seasoned, but not overwhelming. Excellent accompaniments. There's a substantial pasta menu, along with tacos, fajitas, baby back ribs, chicken, pot roast, ....Virtually something for everyone. Our server was knowledgable but not intrusive. And cordial. Prices at Hiflautin are commensurate with non chain Tucson "Steak" houses: reasonable especially considering the sizable portions. A comfortable, relaxing, dining experience. Plentiful parking surrounds this stand alone restaurant. Good for family, friends, and business. Reservations in season are a good idea.More

Upon entering we were pleasantly surprised. This is not a typical steakhouse. Hifalutin is exceptional- very classy but in a contemporary atmosphere and includes a great menu with options for all. Our server was top notch, food was really fresh and enjoyable. Prices- good, especially...for what you are served. VERY AFFORDABLE yet quality and fresh. We will def return.More

We ate there last night. I ordered the Rustlers Ribeye which is supposed to be their signature steak. It was chewy and tough. Same as last time. I don’t know where they are buying their meat but they really need to upgrade. The vegetable were...completely mushy and it was a very disappointing meal. The oysters were great and the place is very western and fun. It has indoor and outdoor seating. I have been there several times and the rib eye steaks have never been terrific. A better bet would be the filet or something else.More

This restaurant deserves a higher rating. My husband and I had dinner here while we were on a vacation in Tucson. Unfortunately, we had a large lunch that day so we only had a sandwich for dinner. It was huge and delicious. All the dinners...that were served near us looked excellent and if we had another evening in Tucson, we certainly would have come back to this restaurant.More

We came across this place on a list of nearby restaurants in our hotel room. Their website said reservations were suggested, but we took our chances and stopped in without them. We were offered a seat at the bar, which we gladly took considering there...were several people waiting to be seated in the restaurant. The atmosphere was warm and cozy. The bartender was friendly. Our meals were delivered fairly quickly. They both tasted really good - I had the spinach/shrimp salad and my husband had steak. My shrimp was a little dry, but it tasted good. My husband said his steak was one of the better ones he's had in a long time. We both look forward to eating there the next time we're down in Tucson.More

We visited one of our favorite Tucson restaurants to check out their Sunday Brunch menu and were delighted! We sat on the cozy covered patio. I had the Southwestern omelet. My husband had the French toast. Both were delicious! Our server, June P, was very...helpful.More

Hifalutin is a comfy western bistro, with indoor and outdoor seating on Tucson's main artery, Oracle Road. With decor deserving of a western bunkhouse, crossed with a mexican hascienda, this restaurant has not only something for everyone, but GOOD something for everyone. We enjoyed the...chicken fajitas, Green Chili Tortilla soup, and the Hacienda Cheese crisp for an appetizer. Kudos to the chef. The fajitas, a mountain of mexican seasoned chicken with guac, cheese, salsa on the side, could feed the entire Arizona football team. The soup, cup and bowl available, was a symphony of chilis, beans, noodles and corn in a tangy chicken broth. The bowl was more than enough for one person. Our cheese crisp was in the category of a large pizza, covered in mexican cheese and fresh tomato. The crust, just as thin as possible to give the toppings a perfect pedestal. Full Bar. The Bellini (peach cocktail) received a strong thumbs up. The bloody mary came with a touch of seasoning and not full of vegetables and tiny umbrellas. There's a children's menu: mac and cheese, quesadillas.....ice cream Brunch with a separate menu on Saturdays and Sundays. Fare runs from classic huevos rancheros to Hiflautin Eggs Benedict, Southwestern Omlette w/home fries and Monte Cristo. Plenty of unique salads including pulled chicken cobb, seared flank steak salad and fresh shrimp with mexican bbq. The main menu runs from oysters to wild bill pasta, beef stroganoff, and steaks and burgers galore from flank to ribe eye, half roasted chicken and prawns, meatloaf and tacos. Plenty of free parking. Take out and curbside available. Big screen tv's throughout. Service is remarkable. Our waitress was spot on across the board. A pro. Hifalutin is a spot to visit frequently. One of Tucson's best. Priced reasonably across the board.More

Have eaten at HiFalutin on may occasions & the food has been good. But on May 1st I ordered the chicken fajita. It tasted like no other fajita I have ever had. It was presented on a sizzle plate as it should have been but...instead of being hot & sizzling it was sitting in 1 inch of tomato liquid. It looked & tasted like chicken stew, soft mussy peppers& onions. It was awful! I took two taste's& had the waitress take it away. The waitress could have cared less & made no offer for me to order something else, she was rude & unhelpful. Will not eat there in the future.More

It was my last day in Tucson so I decided I wanted to try something American since it was Labor Day so I chose this place and had done Mexican first two nights in town. I was excited about the Cowboy Ribeye I ordered until...the first bite that I could barely chew. That continued for the whole steak. You would think a steak maybe 1/4 inch stick wouldn't be that tough but I was wrong. And it was cooked medium. The margarita was nice as was the shrimp other than having a partial wooden skewer in one of the shrimp. I mentioned the steak issue to the waiter and she said she would tell the kitchen. That steak definitely was not worth the cost of it. I doubt I'll be back when I make it back to Tucson again.More
