The food was ok, I would like to go back again with better planning. I think I was too tired from the long day and wait time to thoroughly enjoy the meal. The whole experience felt rushed. The margaritas while waiting were good though.

Loved the atmosphere and food here. There was a bit of a wait because we were there close to lunch time but it wasn't long at all. The frozen margaritas are the best I've ever had and the food was absolutely delicious. The Chile Colorado...More

My husband and I dined here this evening, after several people telling us, we have to try Mi Nidito for Authentic Mexican Food. So we finally tried it. And we are so confused how this could be considered "Authentic Mexican Food". It was definitely "American...More

I was taken to dinner here by a native, who knew just when to arrive. Why is that important? Because this place is SO POPULAR, you can wait for a long time to get a table. It's worth the wait, but even better when you...More

Every time we go to Tucson we go here. The food is fantastic and the service is great. I get the Barria (#7 on the combo plate) and worth it! The meat is seasoned to perfection and always tender. Be prepared to wait as there...More

The wait wasn't as long as expected. We were already told there is always a wait to eat here. There isn't much parking in their lot. This is a small restaurant & some tables are very small, even for 2 people. The service was excellent....More

As Tegedder mentioned, most items on the Mexican food menu are GF with those exceptions. I'd like to add chile rellenos to the avoid list.

Description
Mi Nidito has been serving Tucson since 1952. It was then that a couple from Sonora made a decision that is still impacting the lives of their family three generations later. The decision was between opening a Mexican food restaurant or a tortilla factory. The restaurant won and that is how Mi Nidito was created.Mi Nidito was opened by Ernesto and Alicia Lopez on the corner of 4th Ave and 29th street in historic South Tucson. The restaurant is now owned by Ernest Lopez Jr. and wife Yolanda. Sons Jimmy and ErnieIII help run the family business. The name Mi Nidito which means "My little Nest" was given to the restaurant because of its original small size.Mi Nidito has grown over the years, but has not lost it's quality and charm. It is important to maintain the friendly environment that has made Mi Nidito a family favorite.
