El Charro is a longtime tradition in Tucson. I always take visitors there to show them what REAL Mexican food should be. Definitely have frozen margaritas. Even the house tequila is great. And opt to try the carne seca- dried shredded and seasoned beef- in...More

This is the most delicious carne seca and a Flores family secret for decades! I highly recommend it any way you like it i.e.: cheese crisp, taco, burrito, chimi or on a salad! I prefer the down town location for it's history and true Mexican...More

This restaurant has been family-owned in Tucson since 1922. And there's a good reason. The food is excellent and the atmosphere at the downtown location is amazing. There's an outdoor patio, several rooms, and a basement area for large group events. One of my favorites.

Authentic Mexican food with great ambiance. Used to be a home and now a restaurant with a homey feel. I had the combo cheese enchilada and chicken taco. Yummy. Rice has carrots and peas mixed in which I liked. Beans were good too. Service was...More
