We were in the mood for Chinese food one night, so we ordered takeout from here. It was pretty good overall--the egg rolls were great, and the chicken and broccoli was tasty. The General Tso's was good. The prices were very reasonable as well.

The food is freshly prepared and excellent. We went there on a Saturday night in late July and had the place practically to ourselves, but that changes when the University is in session.

Average Chinese food in a dull setting. Close to UNM and priced right for college students. I;d recommend the Frontier for people watching. If you like Pizza, I'd suggest going to Saggios. If you like Greek I'd try Olympia or Gyro's. If you are looking for local Mexican I'd try El Patio. If you are looking for something upscale, I'd... More

This used to be a great place for Chinese food. But the last few times I went they food was just awful! My guests chicken was undercooked and my broccoli and rice was swimming in corn starch. The food made both of us sick. The service is good, the place is family owned. The decor is awful! It's a cinder... More

I picked up two meals from here a couple nights ago. The food was terrible; the "fried rice" had nothing in it, the egg drop soup was the consistency of a thick jam, and the chicken was soggy. After having 3 bites we threw all the food away. Don't waste your time or money! Even Panda Express is ten times... More

A short walk from UNM main campus will get you to Kai's. Nice selection for lunch menu. Great lunch prices. I've been coming to Kai's & back in the day was called Kai's Kung Foo Cafe. I don't know if that was official or just the UNM slang name. Way better than a franchised Chinese place. Go local! In any... More

We live next door to this place and it always smells great, but the food was very bland and the service was just so-so.

Very cheap, fast, made following Chinese tradition but from local ingredients (try the jalapeno chicken with rice). Definitely a hole in the wall, but perfect for lunch.

Ya know how you are only supposed to be able to get two out of three when it comes to good, fast and cheap...? Well Kai's Chinese Restaurant in Albuquerque really can give you all three. The place doesn't look like much, but what it lacks in decor it more than makes up for in yummy deliciousness!

Yes, this place has the saucy slop American-Chinese food (which if you like this, try the jalapeno tofu, it is spiced just right...kind of an Albuquerque-Chinese food), but if you want authentic central, south, or north Chinese, just ask them what dish you want and they will fix it for you. I just wanted some rigan mien noodles which is... More
