The Artichoke Café is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is always great, as is the service. The work on Central can make access a drag, but it's worth it.

The arugula/beet salad was so old and wilted we returned it - not sure why the kitchen staff would even think of releasing it to the floor, nor do I understand why the waiter didn't notice the poor state in which it was served; steaks...More

My lady and I went to this restaurant with a gift card and spent the whole thing. The food was yummy, and the service was effective. When I asked for water, I found it strange that they made sure that I knew that it was...More

Behind the street-work cones (unfair to businesses along Central) is innovative, well-presented cuisine at Artichoke Cafe, with SW flare. We had first-rate, tasty (with attention to detail) filet, salmon, gazpacho and Brussel sprouts. Attentive service, too much ice in drinks (a common problem), good wine...More

I was in Albuquerque traveling on business and decided to try Artichoke. I had read that it was vegetarian friendly, but found the menu quite limited along with a note at the bottom that said "substitutions politely discouraged." I ordered the spring nettle ravioli which...More

On recommendation of our hotel, we walked to this restaurant. We didn't have a reservation, but we were seated in the area off the main dining room. The service and food were very good. As the sun went down, the light and heat were a...More

I am so sorry about your recent experience with us. I feel terrible that one of our servers was rude. Please call me so that I might learn some more details from your dinner. My number is 505.243.0200. Thank you, Bradley Chapman

The Artichoke Cafe, aka The Choke, is my go-to place for a blind date. Why? 1. It's classy enough to weed out icky dudes. 2. The bar lounge is small, dark, romantic, and quiet enough to have a great time and conversation without being overly...More

Yes, our chefs are used to catering to dietary restrictions. I would suggest you make a note on your reservation, inform your waiter and he/she will let the kitchen know.

Description
The Artichoke Cafe was reopened in 1989 by Pat and Terry Keene. Pat, who was formally trained in New York City, is executive chef and Terry has 30 years experience in restaurant management. Their dedication to the best in food, wine, and service has made this 120 seat restaurant one of Albuquerque's finest dining spots.

Its downtown location on Route 66 in the Historic Huning Highland/EDO District, cozy modern decor and rotating art exhibits add panache and charm to its ambience. The food is a mix of French, Italian, and creative American, using only the finest ingredients.
