This was the lunch stop for our bus tour of the city and this used to be Brigham young' s dining room. My mom got the salmon, and I had the baby ribs, both were excellent. Sorry but i thouhht the mashed potatoes were like...More

4 of us had a Saturday night dinner that had excellent food at reasonable prices. The Lion House used to be Brigham Young's residence and is a very well restored building. As you enjoy the cafeteria selections you can't help but smell the awesome smells...More

We ate lunch here while we were touring Temple Square. It has sort of a cafeteria style display. The people were wonderful... their speciality are the Lion Rolls!

When you come to visit Salt Lake City, this place is a must go. It's in the heart of the city in a cute, quaint building. The bread rolls are to die for, and it's what Lion House is known for. Ask any Utahn --...More

Very neat restaurant with pretty good food. This is a good place to stop for a quick bite to eat while checking out the sites in temple square. The food is cafeteria style and there is plenty of seating. Easy place to go with kids.

We enjoyed our meal of pork chops and chicken. The mashed potatoes were pretty good but small portion too. The honey butter was great on the rolls. But they don't have a military discount. That needs to change.

We had as enjoyable lunch at The Lion House. The chicken pot pie and salmon were both excellent. The meals are served buffet style. Everyone on the staff was friendly and helpful. We recommend the Lion House for lunch.

Was this always a cafeteria style restaurant or was there a more formal style restaurant once called the Lion House? Perhaps in the upstairs area of the house. What is the upstairs area of the Lion House used for?

They have always had a cafeteria style down stairs, the rooms upstairs are available for rental for events with catering, I know I have had several wedding lunches there for family members.
