Never been a fan of meatloaf until now. Wow... a must try. If you want great food in an unpretentious diner setting this is the place.

This place is almost always packed for lunch. I just stick to take out to avoid the crowd. Real friendly staff when I have visited. Food was real good. The catfish filet is on point! Seasoned very well. Fried chicken wings is pretty good too. I like the coleslaw, because it's got a little something different in it. Baked beans... More

It's so southern, I tasted 100 years of heritage in every bite. It's as authentic as it gets folks. When traveling through Macon and want a taste of the south, this is it! Super close to Mercer and convenient to I-75.

This restraurant makes me proud to be a Maconite. If you are looking for good homecooked Southern food you need to go get you a plate or two! You won't regret it.

Delicious homestyle, country cooking. Check out the rotating menu board for a different set of options each day. The sweet tea is true southern sweet tea, so if you can't handle that, you might better pour half unsweet!

You will have to wait in line for lunch as it's often out the door at this Local's Only place very near Mercer University's main campus on College Street. Look for Alexander II school and turn down that road to get there. Fried foods are delicious, grilled fish yummy but the veggies are old school like Mama cooked them. Only... More

Bears Den had catered a couple of work events. Knew the food was great. It did not disappoint. Fried chicken was great. The desserts were plentiful. Had the strawberry shortcake. I left the place stuffed.

We come here every time we drive through Macon, which is only about once a year but boy do we love it & look forward to it! We always get take out. They offer a lot of specific items every day & they're all delicious! I missed the Cheesy Baked Spaghetti ( Mondays) but enjoyed the Baked Chicken with cornbread... More
