Humu is the oceanfront restaurant at the Grand Wailea Resort, seemingly floating above a koi pond and overlooking the ocean, west Maui, and smaller faraway Hawaiian islands. It has a classically Polynesian look, with thatched roofs and bamboo, while still avoiding a tacky tiki bar feel. At night it's beautifully lit with torches. The food was spectacular. We had the... I can here with a group of co-workers for dinner on a Saturday night. It was our last dinner in Hawaii, and it had come very highly recommended. We made reservations for 6:45 p.m. We arrived at 6:45 p.m. and were told that our table was not ready because the rain had gotten on the table. It had been raining... More

We came here twice on your trip and am torn between pretty good and great. Pros- you can't beat the views having a water surrounding you with a view of the ocean (until sunset), nice selection of appetizer options (definitely get the scallops or poke). Cons- service seemed a little extra slow than it needed to be, especially when it... More

My wife and I stay at the Grand Wailea every year (16th stay at the resort). In the past the service and food has been mediocre. We usually pass on dinner at this restaurant when at the resort but, we thought we would try it again since they remodeled and supposedly improved the menu. Well we were pleasantly suprised by... It just wasn't that fabulous. For the price, disappointing. It's beautiful setting but I think they could really REALLY improve on the food.

Sunset dining was perfect. Waiter, Michael, was kind, informative, and attentive. Food was impeccable. Try the spicy beef and tomato salad off the app menu. The Grand was the best cocktail. The Mahi was the best we'd ever had quite honestly. Could not have asked for a better Maui resort experience.

We spent 6 nights at the Grand Wailea resort, and during our stay we had a wonderful dinner at Humuhumunukunukuapua'a. The restaurant atmosphere is lovely and relaxing. We were seated at a table that overlooked the manmade "lagoon" where we were able to look over the water and beautiful scuptures. The food was very fresh and not only did it... More

Elise our server was genuinely nice, helpful and awesome to us. She has the answer to any of our questions with regards to food preparations, presentations and taste. She had all the time in the world for us. I would like to give her 2 thumbs up overall service, aloha service, sweet smile from start to finish and her authentic... More

I have had a love affair with this restaurant for years. Amazing view and location smack in the heart of Wailea Beach. Over the last 7 years I have eaten here on every visit to Maui (5 visits). I was looking SO forward to it but found that the menu had entirely changed and not for the better. We ended... More

When we arrived for a sunset dinner we were very hot and had walked a long way. I felt dehydrated. Our spunky waitress seated us and asked what we wanted to drink. She brought us menus and water. We must have taken too long trying to figure out the menu and odd named fish. She waltzed over and asked "Are... More
