Definitely try Capische, you will miss out on something special if you don't. There are a lot of great restaurants in Wailea and this is at the top of the list. My husband and I first went for drinks and appetizers one night to enjoy the sunset view from the bar. Gorgeous! We ordered two different appetizers and both were... More

My wife and I had breakfast here before a snorkeling trip one morning. We shared the waffles and the breakfast plate. Both were very good. The porkbelly bacon was especially good. The prices are a little high like most places in Hawaii but at least the food was good.

After hearing rave reviews we were excited to try Capiche but we were extremely disappointed. The restaurant and hotel are EERILY quiet, I felt like I was at a funeral. Staff seemed pretentious, hostess rolled her eyes in disgust when my husband declined her offer for a black napkin. We didn't end up eating at Capiche, after perusing the menu... More

We didn't make a sunset dinner reservation this time (did that three years ago and can recommend it) but the view over the lights around the island of Maui is cool. We only had a bowl of the spaghetti bolognese as I fancied a home cooked simple meal. The quality was great, rich but nicely balanced between savory and sweet.... More

We booked a dinner for 10 in their private dining room but when it was close to the time of our party there was a problem with the room. They recommended we move outside to the Garden Terrace and it could not have been better! The menu was preset by the chef with wine pairings and he was spot on... More

Spectacular view, super high prices but certainly not a place we would go back to again and again. Told Capische we were booking for a special anniversary dinner and reminded them of that fact when we arrived - received no recognition or celebratory treatment at any time during our dinner. Food was very good but the entire dining experience was... More

Staying at the Hotel Wailea had the added perk of getting a coupon for free dessert at Capische. So while the actual restaurant was a bit out of our price range, we came for the dessert. The hostess was a little strange; even though the restaurant was completely empty she insisted that she was going to take 10 minutes to... More

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Wailea where this restaurant is housed (see review below). At the urging of the staff, my husband and I ate there, the result of which was that he ended up with food poisoning (we think the pasta carbonara with the raw egg was the culprit). He was sick all night and didn't... More

We came here for our 32 anniversary and had a great table on the lanai and even our menu had happy anniversary printed inside which was a great added touch The wait staff is so professional and had great recomendations, the sunset was beautiful, the food spectacular and it is a bit pricey but great for a special occasion

Lovely view, but food is inconsistent and overpriced. Have had both inspired meals and average food here. Not worth the price to me.

Mahalo for your review, SueInSac. We appreciate your feedback. It seems like you've been here a couple of times, so you know that everything on the island is expensive due to the location. We hope you'll reconsider trying us if you visit Maui again to enjoy one of our inspired meals. More

Description
Hawaii's first and only Relais & Chateaux restaurant, The Restaurant at Hotel Wailea (formerly known as Capische?) offers a European-inspired elegance infused with creative island-to-table cuisine. Menus are created around what is readily available from Maui’s own farms and fisherman ensuring that each dish is prepared using only the finest local, seasonal and artisanal products; including those grown in the restaurant’s own garden and farming operation.

From its perch on the hillside above South Maui's Wailea resort area, the restaurant offers sweeping panoramic ocean views from the upper lanai and intimate dining under the stars in the garden.
