A small and charming tea room. The British owner was delightful. It made for a great outing. It was our first time in Frederick in many years. Take your time and also walk around the town. A nice change of pace from DC

I had been meaning to try this place for quite a while, and I'm so glad I finally went in! It's a cozy little place, a nice warm reprieve from a chilly windy day. The service was excellent, friendly and helpful. The tea was delicious and really brought back memories of my trips to Ireland (I guess Irish tea is... More

It feels like you are sitting in a simple tearoom in a little English village. The food was delicious, particularly the dinner pies, and very authentic. Sadly the scones were a little dry and crumbly the day we went. We would definitely go back and give them a second chance.

I have been going to Cafe Anglais since they opened. It's the perfect spot to meet friends for tea. I love the shepherd's pie and mushy peas the best! The owner is very friendly and will sit and have a nice chat if you like. The garden in the spring and summer is the best kept secret in Frederick!

When we arrived in town, had no specific destination in mind when we stumbled upon Cafe' Anglais - What a delightful surprise. Food was delicious, proprietor was warm and friendly. The best surprise was the gardens in the rear of the building. The day was sunny and warm so we elected to sit out side. We so enjoyed just relaxing... More

Delightful backyard garden, delicious quiche, a new dessert tried and the best coffee I ever had. Don't let the plain store front dissuade you from lunch in the garden.

Went with my family for tea a number of times. Found the tea and food to be great. However, after one experience with the owner making a rude comment to my son, I haven't been back and will not return. Great food, but I can do without a rude owner.

To establish my credibility; I'm English. A nice pot of tea served in the best China (the way Grandma always did it). Steak and kidney pie, Cornish pastie, crinkle cut chips and mushy peas were all very good and authentic. This is not meant to be a fine dining experience but is an extremely good attempt at an English cafe.... More

Cafe Angalis was my first team room, and like the owner, Michael told me, I think I've only set myself up for disappointment in future visits to any other tea room. Four friends and I put in a reservation for a Sunday tea time (you have to call ahead at least one day so they can prepare). We arrived to... More

I am a tea aficionado, so am always looking for new places to try. This one transported me back to England, and the local tea rooms I visited in the small villages along the way. No frills, just a good cuppa and some sustaining "tea" tidbits. including scones, clotted cream, and strawberry jam, and the ever present lemon tart! If... More
