I wanted to love this experience, and I had huge expectations. But I found the food really good for a really expensive price. Especially the vegetable tasting menu. It didn't seem like that should be worth the cost we paid. Disappointing.

We had the pleasure of eating at the Table 21-part of the restaurant which serves a set menu of 21 "tastes". Everything from the "Hashtag"-cocktail to the wine, service, and of course the massive amount of different tastes was simply superb. We've never even heard about Frederick, MD - but we read about this restaurant and decided to make a... More

I had my first evening at volt and it was very interesting. The staff was attentive and patient. The food had great flavor but at times I didn't know what I was eating. I have eaten in many restaurants and in many countries. This is an interesting style of cooking and presentation that is not for me. I prefer fresh... More

We were seated in the special kitchen seating at Volt after noting in my Open Table reservation that it was my birthday. What a pleasant surprise! Everything including service, atmosphere, and food was terrific. We ordered the six course tasting menu and enjoyed each of the courses. Thank you Volt for making my birthday a very special occasion.

Overall very good, Of the courses we had, most were very good, a few were fantastic, a couple needed tweaking. Time between courses needs to be tighter, we waited with little feedback from the staff. On that note, service felt a little flat, don't get me wrong, service was good, but for $500 a couple the staff could have been... More

We lucked into the Chef's Table at Volt last week, and got the great gift of their 21 course tastings menu. Man oh man oh man. It truly was one of the very best meals I've ever had. Surprise after surprise. And we were right there watching the team put plates together for us (and others). I tasted things I'd... More

I had been wanting to try out this restaurant for so long, and I finally had the opportunity when I was traveling in the area! It was a great experience from start to finish. I went for brunch, and the menu was delicious. I had the Whitmore Farm Hen Eggs and they were the best eggs I have ever had.... More

I consider myself an adventurous eater, and I was really excited to eat at Volt. Unfortunately, creative doesn't necessarily equal delicious, and in this case, it somehow didn't. The good: I loved the young, warm waitstaff. They use a team server approach which normally isn't my favorite, but here it worked. All the people were friendly and pleasant and the... More

We stayed for 1 night on a business trip and were in for a good restaurant after a days travel. Service is good, friendly personnel. First a drink; to get a "normal beer" is not an option, the chef seems to have decided that you have to have exotic, strange tasting beers that "match better with the food". Menu looked... More

Description
VOLT offers guests a menu of modern American cuisine. The focus of our cuisine is based on classic flavor combinations, creating sophisticated dishes that emphasize purity and seasonal flavors that are based on fundamental and innovative cooking techniques. VOLT's relationship with local artisan farmers ensures availability of products to fulfill the philosophy behind the menu, in a refined, historic venue where classic meets modern. By design, the restaurant follows along the original footprint of the mansions first floor parlors. Both the 38 seat main dining room and the bar/lounge open off the foyer. The original mosaic tile in the foyer was the inspiration behind the warm monochromatic color palette that adorns the finishes in VOLT. Private dining can be hosted in the conservatory offering views of the expansive courtyard. The 700 square foot kitchen afforded space to include up to 20 guests.
