As I'm local, this is my go-to place for a special Sunday brunch. I strongly urge you make reservations. And, then dig in! The brunch buffet is vast, and if you can't find enough to eat I doubt you like food. The chafing dishes are filled with the usual bacon, eggs, pancakes, etc. The carving station provided me with some... More

Hadn't seen a friend in nearly two years and decided to catch up over lunch. Great little place . I love old inns. Love hearing the floors creek when people walk by! Lunch was good. Host greeted us with a smile. Waitress was friendly and prompt. Food was average. Would definitely get back again. Wish the weather had been warmer,... More

Start to finish, worst dinner experience in recent memory. Bar menu only, sandwiches took 50 minutes to arrive, while others got their food, so clear the order was botched. Finally food comes out, and two of the 3 orders were wrong! The waitress was rude after all that happened. We didn't even bother to complain to then manager - hopeless.

Had lunch here with a client. The room was dated but beautiful. Old history and charming. The food was very good along with the service. We were told the history of the hotel and this place is also haunted!! Recommend dining here and staying at the Inn.

The Liberty Tavern is casual, relaxed, and cozy. The staff is attentive and helpful when it comes to questions about menu items. We were a party of 8 that the restaurant was able to accommodate with some persuasion since they do not take reservations. Our party ordered many different dishes and were not disappointed with any of our selections.

Our friends who live in the area highly recommended this restaurant and it did not disappoint. We were fortunate to be sat on the front porch and it was a glorious fall day. Our view was the village green with trees in different stages of turning beautiful colors of red, orange and yellow. Our service was very good. Our server... More

Three cheers for restaurants & inns that survive and thrive over many generations, as this fine place does. The dining spaces are cozy, comfortable, and as close as you can get to colonial. Food here exceeds expectations and is reasonably priced. Expect a bit of a wait to be seated, though, especially in summer - this place is understandably popular... More

The main dining room in this historic inn is the epitome of unchanging graciousness. The menu is varied, with daily specials, many of which fit the description of upper-level comfort food. We had the prime rib, which was delicious, and left room for the Indian Pudding dessert. They have Downeast Hard Cider, one of my favorites, on the drinks menu.... More

We had a dinner with friends in a weekend. The place is so charming with so much history in it. You can read the pictures on the wall or just look around to appreciate the architecture. The food and service is good. It is located right in the center of the town, but we did not have trouble finding parking... More

Wow, didn't see this one coming. With charming older New England inns you expect atmosphere but you worry that the kitchen may have stopped trying 100 years ago. Was I wrong. The magic in the kitchen is the reason to return here often. Chicken pot pie, how to make it stand out? These guys figured it out. The crust is... More
