We had a business dinner with clients. We ordered the parsnip soup as a starter and the grilled veal porterhouse steak. The soup was well prepared and hot for a change. The veal porterhouse was prepared to my wish. Great taste and well prepared. Service was very polite as was our waitress who did her utmost to service us without... More

I had to put my fork down in the middle of my asparagus-themed prix fixe meal to write this review. The food here is fresh, delectable, and delightful. The dishes deliver a variety of tastes that can be individually savored because they in no way confused by the preparation. I have treasured every bite so far and will close so... More

Quite a plain & crowded interior but the food is something special. Grilled veal porterhouse succulent. The asparagus and sliced duck starter was also fine. The sorbet dessert was in perfect condition but rather sweet. For me a sorbet should have some bitterness to it as a palate refresher. Alcoholic drinks can soon ratchet up the price.

I had gnocci ( best I have ever had) and duck confit ( best I have ever had and I have it a lot.) The service was spot on and the atmosphere is upscale but not fancy.

We were there on a Friday night and had the duck. It was excellent. This is a gourmet restaurant. Although expensive we felt we received value because of the quality. Our only criticism is that it was busy and noisy.

The food and service is always on point. Everything has always been delicious and the service is always polite and friendly and not rushed. The wine list is varied and unique. I have had a great dining experience every time we come here.

Most of our visits to 80 Thoreau these days are in the little bar area. No reservation required. Nice cocktails and a small bar menu that includes a great burger and usually a light fish item (skatewing or swordfish skewers), plus access to the full menu. I find the whole restaurant cozy and quite lovely. Staff has always been very... More

We are regular customers - usually visit at least once per month, sometimes more. The food is consistently good and service excellent. The drinks are good but small - about half the size of a martini in many places, but less expensive too. I would give 5 stars except that the menu does not change often enough. With a small... More

We have dinner at 80 Thoreau every so often, and each visit is better than the last. Special thanks to Alex, our waiter during our last visit, whose friendliness and advice were greatly appreciated.

We went on a recent Friday night. The food was quite good, although the entree selection was limited. The service was first rate, but the wine prices were steep. Glasses were $12+ and bottles started at around $50. I think this is too high. There were only two domestic wines were on the menu. What happened to farm-to-table? 80 Thoreau... More
