Last time we came to this restaurant it was for a full meal but lately we have taken to stopping by different places for Tapas and a drink while we are out on our nightly walk. Our first Tapas was baked fish, shrimp and potatoes in a spicy sauce. After that they brought ham, green beans and shrimp, topped with... More

Was so disappointed with our meal here. It has a good reputation but when we visited on a busy Saturday night it did not live up to the hype. Assume it was the main chefs night off. The service left a lot to be desired with the waiters unable to cope with the full tables. The tapas at the bar... More

On the front in Almunecar, and very busy, so we booked. Reserve a table outside I'd suggest if you visit in summer. Shared a mixed seafood dish which was superb, and very large. Started with a prawn pilpil, again cooked very well. They do have an English translated menu, but little spoken English. It's not quite a 5/5 but close

Third time within six months that we have visited this restaurant and it's been consitently good on all occasions. The shellfish platter is one of the most impressive i have ever seen and tasted. The black ink Paella is equally good on both visits we chose Rias Bias Albarino wine to accompany the shellfish.

The other day my wife was getting her hair cut and during the session she had a conversation with her hairdresser about the different local restaurants they had eaten at. The hairdresser said that the best steak she had had so far was at El Cortijillo. Since my wife is a big steak fan and since we hadn't tried it... More

We had a couple of drinks at the bar and will certainly be going back. The free tapas were excellent, great quality and lots of it. The food going to the diners in the restaurant looked fabulous.

We visited this restuarant last year and enjoyed our meal and have returned twice this year. The first was with a party of friends when we all enjoyed an excellent meal and friendly attentive service. We returned again on a busy Saturday night and again enjoyed the 20euro menu of the day which is excellent value. We still received friendly,... More

Good quality menus del Dias which is welcome when there are several cheaper imitations . Good service and advice with the menu. Three courses were excellent value , house wines were good . Lamb chulettas were good and cerdo cheeks were fab. Not a fan of the peel your own prawns for pre meal tapas particularly without finger bowl or... More

We have eaten here on a number of occasions in the last few months and this meal was definitely below par. As usual we had the 20 euro menu del dia. The Minestrone soup was very good, the prawn cocktail served in half a pineapple less so. The presentation was, as usual, very good but the pawns were tasteless and... More
