Greeted quickly and offered warm, delicious cornbread, the atmosphere was good for a business lunch. When shrimp and grits is on the menu, I almost always order it. My lunch mate ordered salmon and quinoa. My dish included large shrimp pieces, thick creamy grits and...More

The people working here are lovely and welcoming. Couldn't ask for better service. The food is an interesting take on southern cuisine (I grew up in Alabama so know it in my genes). Great vegetables--the collards and succotash were both superb. However, the duck starter...More

I loved everything - the service, food, atmosphere... but the fried chicken was to die for. Out of this world good. Southern food at its best. Bbq shrimp were a hit too. Our party loved everything.

Really a mouth-watering experience for southern food. I usually have fried chicken, which is superb, but the menu includes a wide variety of southern food. Service is great and I really never have had to wait very long. Ambiance is nice as well. Really a...More

Without a dought. This restaurant has the best fried chicken. Someone in your group will be ordering it. It may as well be you. We dined here in September and was able to get a patio table on a 75 degree night. It was perfect....More

Our reservation for 2 was at 6:30 on a Friday night and when we arrived the restaurant wasn't overly crowded. We ordered the pulled pork as an appetizer, I got the fried chicken, my boyfriend had the gluten free red fish, and for dessert, we...More

This is a classic place. We had a business luncheon for six. They had our reservation ready for us and were very prompt as some of the attendees that had limited time. Food was wonderful and service was attentive.

Description
Celebrating over 18 year as one of Atlanta's favorite restaurants, South City Kitchen Midtown specializes in contemporary Southern cuisine with a sophisticated twist. Combining the energy of Atlanta with the warmth of a Southern home, the restaurant is nestled in an updated, historic bungalow on the city's famous Crescent Avenue. Dine on local Southern favorites such as shrimp and grits, buttermilk fried chicken, she-crab soup, fried green tomatoes and banana pudding while enjoying the view of our exhibition kitchen or the city skyline on one of the best patios in the city. This truly is dining the way the new South intended.
