The countryside hotel La Garganta is situated in a gorge with a reservoir dam in El Chorro and a bridge called the “Caminito del Rey” which has been restored (ready in 2015). The hotel has got small and larger rooms and is particularly appreciated by hikers. There is a pool as well as a nice restaurant with a terrace with... More

We had a really nice dinner on the terrace as the sun set in this beautiful gorge valley. A nice selection of starters included ,for me,a superb house salad. The menu featured meats of the region. After sunset we marvelled at a magnificent hillside sillohuette.

Had a late lunch (or just lunch if you're Spanish) and it was great. Food came quickly, the staff were nice and it tasted great. A couple shared the leg of lamb which was great value at 28 erous (in total not each!). Highly recommended if you're in the area

We spent a lovely weekend at this hotel and ate all our meals in the restaurant. Good selection of food, friendly staff and relaxing, laid back atmosphere with phenomenal views.

La Garganta is a hotel and restaurant about 200 mts up from the end of the 'Caminito del Rey, (uphill from where the bus leaves.) We had tried a restaurant near the starting point previously and weren't impressed. La Garganta has a shady, pretty terrace and young, English speaking staff. It's not as busy as the places at the other... More

We visited the Garganta for an evening meal and were the only ones in there apart from some young adults who appeared to be the staff eating there before going home. These staff were so loud and boisterous that we could hardly hear ourselves thInk. It was very off putting. There didn't seem to be any manager around to oversee... More

I seem to be in the minority, but i didn't like the food, maybe because i don't eat much chicken or fish and no meat so there wasn't a great choice. The rooms were fine, but the location is great - overlooking the lake, as long as you don't mind a great big dam as well and it's right by... More

We had a lovely late lunch in this restaurant. The stuffed avocados were delicious as was the sole in almond sauce. The staff are pleasant and the place is great after a long walk on the Caminito del Rey. I would certainly visit again.

We had lunch there, sitting with fabulous views, eating kid of goat. This is naturally a specialty it was much more food than we thought. The dish was good, but not better. We had a local wine Vega del Geva Crianza, this is a very different wine, please try it, but it is not a wine you will drink often.... More

Rural restaurant. Food and services were in the average-low range. They got us the caminito tickets and that earned them a star.
