About
Chatterbox is a social dining experience at the Sea View Hotel alongside the Buggiba seaside promenade. Inspired by chaat or chāt, savoury snacks originating from the greater Indian subcontinent, typically found on food carts, we have extended our love for street food across Southeast Asia. We serve exotic cocktails, craft local beers and wholesome South East Asian food reflecting the bustling food markets of India, Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia. The menu features comfort classics, authentic traditional recipes as well as street food inspired bar food for a relaxed meal by the seaside. The wine list has been curated to match the flavours of the food, ranging from local wines grown in Malta to Old World Classics and New World favourites. The menu has several vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options and all our meats are halal certified. We offer both indoor and outdoor seating with a sea view and also feature a show kitchen.

What a place! As an avid Indian curry fan and eaten several times at Nan Bar in Valletta which has always been absolutely fabulous for food and service, the new Chatterbox restaurant is something not to be missed. Wonderful new concept, stunning and tasty food, brilliant and attentive service all in a very pleasant seafront setting. One couldn't ask for more from a restaurant experience, and one I shall be returning to again and again to feed a thirst for authentic and great value dining! Can't wait for next visit!

My wife and I passed this restaurant which had a very welcoming gentleman at the front. He wasn’t too pushy and kindly invited us to check out the menu which was an indian, Thai/ Chinese fusion.
We were seated immediately and greeted by a very nice gentleman who was a new employee. All the team were very pleasant. The food was amazing and service was quick! (We were starving)
We had beer, some soft drinks, 2 starters & 3 mains which came to an amazing 54 Euros!
Great value for money, great portions. 100% coming back next year!

If you're happy to wait two hours for your food to arrive, want a venue with disinterested waiters who don't listen when you order & bland unauthentic food then this is the place.
We visited this evening (July 23). We were seated at 7.40pm. By 21.20 we had only been served our shared starter (2people). The table next to us ordered after us and had eaten two courses, paid and left long before our main arrived...which was incomplete. We gave it up as a bad job, paid for our drinks and left.
Staff were not in the slightest bit interested. This is the last night of our holiday & we've left hungry and incredibly disappointed.
When we had asked what the delay with our food might be, the staff were flippant & dismissive...saying "it's coming sir" on more than one occasion. When it came, it wasn't what we had requested. A rice was missing which we were told we hadn't ordered and that would then also be a longer amount of time. Final straw.
Overview: Unattentive, disinterested staff, mediocre starter (assorted satay skewers), 1 prawn, overly fatty pork belly with little meat and a chicken & a 1hr 45m wait for a main that was wrong as the waiter had taken it down incorrectly.
Made a relaxing holiday very stressful.
Please go somewhere else.

We did have delays in the food service due to the power cut that took place during operations with lead to some orders being processed earlier than others. We also acknowledge that the server who attended to your table made a mistake on the accompaniments and while he did bring out the rice order quickly to make amends it was not enough. We apologise for your experience and will be sure to take corrective action so that it is not repeated. Thank you again for giving us a try. It is early days and we will take your feedback as a opportunity to fine tune.

I am only giving this place a 4 star for the food which was amazing (Chinese spring rolls, Kung Poa chicken and beef black pepper) more than enough for two people and tasted fantastic and I highly recommend this place for that.
Now for the negative bit, the place is not big and it was not busy, we got shown to an empty table, no cutlery or napkins, no one came to set the table no one asked us if we wanted a menu or a drink, in the end I had to stop a waiter and ask for some service as we had been sat there 15 minutes, with waiters wandering around aimlessly with no idea.
Even when the waiter came I still had to ask twice more if we could get our drinks and some menus, the waiters kept saying someone is coming with your drinks but no one came, 22 minutes after sitting down we finally got our drinks!
We ordered our food, starters arrived 15 minutes later, we still had no cutlery! Our drinks finished I asked for the same again they never came, said to another waiter we ordered more drinks he said I will get them, never came, asked a third waiter we are still waiting for our drinks and he brought them.
Eventually after another 15 minutes our mains came and I took the opportunity to ask him if we could have the same drinks again, you guessed it he never brought them!
Had to ask a guy serving the next table could he get us some drinks one beer and a white wine with ice, he brought the beer but no wine, when I told him it was a white wine with ice as well there was no apology he just went to get it, came back no ice!
How can something so simple be so hard to do?
Food finished and empty plates sat there for 15 minutes, no one asked us if we enjoyed the meal, was everything ok no offer of desserts or another drink.
It’s such a shame the service was so poor, so unprofessional as the place is nice overlooking the bay, the food (when it came) was awesome but the staff have to really get more attention to detail and be more customer focused, as they are on a street with 20 other’s restaurants.
Would I eat there again? As good as the food was probably not as the wait time and customer service was so bad.

Lovely welcome by the waiter on the door only spoilt by the waitress who was very sullen and whose interest waned quickly when she realized we were not big spenders (2 beers and 2 noodle dishes €30). That said, the food was excellent value, fresh,, plentiful and tasty. The decor is very pleasant and the seating very comfortable. Such a shame that one negative interaction occurred otherwise it would have been 5 stars all the way.

Not usually one for writing reviews, My wife & I had several meals here recently during our holiday & I was absolutely blown away. The quality of food, service & value for money is astounding. We tried different items from the menu over our visits & I can highly recommend the Chicken Tikka Massala, Korma, Butter Chicken, Chicken Noodles, Roti, Naan, Basmati Rice to name just several! The staff are all polite & attentive without being too ‘in your face’ so to speak. To top it all off, the prices are amazing, I’m not sure how they can make money when a main course is just £9.99 but I’m not complaining!!!

A Hidden Gem for Indian Cuisine Lovers in Malta – Chatterbox
After spending two days in Malta and struggling to satisfy our Indian food cravings, we stumbled upon Chatterbox in St. Paul’s Bay—what an absolute gem!
The service from the staff was exceptional from the moment we walked in. They were warm, welcoming, and truly went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic experience. My son wanted something very plain to eat, and they customised his meal with no spices—just perfectly cooked chicken, exactly like homemade.
For a family of three (2 adults and 1 child), we spent about €70, including a bottle of dessert wine for my wife and me as a treat. The wine was exquisite, and my wife is now a big fan!
The food was authentic and cooked to perfection—something we’ve found increasingly rare, even back home in Manchester. Chatterbox reminded us of what real Indian food should taste like, far from the commercialised curries and tikka dishes we often encounter.
We loved it so much that we returned on our last night in Malta. Mithun took excellent care of us, even treating us to complimentary mocktails on arrival. It was the perfect ending to our trip, and the food was just as incredible as our first visit.
If you’re craving authentic Indian cuisine and impeccable service while in Malta, Chatterbox is a must-visit. Highly recommended!
Also special thanks to all the staff who are very kind and patience. Big smile is what you need when you speak to customers which they definitely have one.

This place is absolutely my top pick for restaurants in Malta! The way they pull off the Indian/Asian fusion concept is simply great. Our first visit was right after checking out the Aquarium in Bugibba, and we couldn't resist coming back not once, but twice more
The satay, shrimps bhuna, dal makhani, and the variety of naan they served were all personal favorites. The service and cocktails were on point too. Chatterbox gets a solid recommendation from me!

The restaurant is located on the Bugibba promenade, in front of the sea. It is big and it has a very nice and modern decor. It also has outside space for tables.
The menu has an Indian section and an Asian section (this last one with plates from china, Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam).
The assortment has some classics of these cousines but also something a bit more original and difficult to find elsewhere in Malta.
We tried the Asian section and it was delicious, full of flavour and well presented.
The prices are very honest, especially considering the environment...we paid only 12 euros per main.
The waiter was very sweet and available.
We will surely be back to try more food and bring more people!

We stayed at the Seaview Hotel and received a 10% discount coupon from the hotel. So we went to the restaurant. We had no expectations and were very surprised at how great this restaurant is! The staff was very friendly and attentive! Our waiter Nirmal looked after us very well! The food was excellent, we didn't have to wait long for it. The food is cooked with love and very authentically. The restaurant is clean and tastefully decorated. We felt completely at home!
Because I was very interested in how naan bread is baked, I was even allowed to stand next to the chef and watch how he prepares the flatbreads!
A perfect evening at the Chatterbox! We'll be happy to come back!

We ate in the Chatterbox twice this week when we stayed in the excellent Sea View Hotel which it forms part of .
The food and service was excellent on both evenings .All dishes were freshly cooked and service was very attentive , friendly and helpful with advice and suggestions on the dishes . All the staff were very efficient , but we would like to single out the special service given to us by the ever smiling ,handsome man named Nirmal. He is a bonus to any restaurant with his constant attention and engaging personality. A very nice experience in a pleasant environment. Well done, we will certainly return .

Food, ambience, staff was amazing! We took to the set menu which was very worth it considering that you can enjoy a three course meal with wine and beer for less than 80 euros (a couple). A great variety of indian and asian dishes to choose from the menu including street food and vegetarian options.

Chatterbox was adjacent to the hotel we were staying in and where we ate on our first evening. The menu is Asian with some modern twists, we had a combination of smaller dishes to share and all were excellent. As we like our food quite spicy we asked for extra chilli which was provided, but the food was extremely tasty. Service was good and we thoroughly enjoyed the meal
