We thought it was a bit pricey but honestly, it was the best veggie burger I've ever had. We ordered the sauce on the side for my husband's bacon & cheddar burger, and they left the sauce out of the bag altogether but they prepared as he requested otherwise (low carb / gluten free bunless lettuce wrap) and he said it was a very good burger. Both burgers came with small side salads. The line was extremely long, moved very slowly, and not everyone was social distancing which made us uncomfortable.. After we waited 15 minutes we figured out that we could just call up on our phone, order curbside pickup, and wait the remaining 25 min in our car. Knowing that, we'll go back because the food was good.

Live this place. Everything we’ve had there has been good. This visit had fries with special sauce, a salad, and then portions of oysters, shrimp, and mussels. All very good. We sat at the bar and our server was good, although not very personable. We’ll be back.

OUTSTANDING BURGERS AND FRIES

On my vacation for my birthday I came across this amazing burger joint. The burgers are ao juicy and full of flavor, so unique and creative. But the fries are to die for, I had brown gravy cheese fries and they were amazing, never had them before anywhere and I'll get them again for sure. If you can find this burger joint you have to come!

Not worth the cost

This place has significantly went down hill since my last visit just a few months ago. I will not be returning. Burgers are significantly smaller and take a look for yourself at my $3.50 fries. Completely unacceptable. Did someone have a snack off my plate before it got to the table?

A GIFT CARD ISSUE

We've been going to Burger Bach for many years and enjoy it! In fact, my parents purchase a $100 gift card for us each Christmas. However, there was an issue with my last gift card that I thought I should pass on to customers. I tried to use my gift card at the Carytown location, only to be told that their system wasn't reading it. We ended up paying for the meal outright and were told the manager would look into the problem and reach out to us. That never happened. I called a second time, explaining the situation and was promised a return call that also never happened. I ended up reaching out to the Better Business Bureau who reached out to Burger Bach whose response was they would be in touch with me. That never happened. Thus, this review. I understand technical issues can occur but I least would have expected the manager/owner to reach out to me reimbursing me for my last purchase, giving me a new gift card in a certain amount for my next visit...something. So, I have lost all or some portion of a $100 gift card. I won't make that mistake again. I have been a happy customer for as long as this restaurant has been open and now that has been tainted. It wouldn't have taken much effort on their part to do the right thing.

Spoiled food

Our raw oysters on the half shell appetizer emitted a fetid odor of spoiled seafood. Although the server apologized and took the item off our bill, the incident seemed glossed over. No explanation was offered and no Manager came by our table. While eating raw seafood comes with inherent risks, this incident raises serious doubts about Burger Bach’s food safety and management oversight. We will certainly dine at this establishment again. However, if you choose to eat there, beware.

I’ll cook a burger at home

So disappointed in this place. For $25 ( with tip) I received a cheese burger, small fries, a salad and cup of water with ice. Upon entering we saw several poster size signs giving us instructions on how to order. Menus were on a table. So many instructions... everything on or in plastic. Food unappetizing on plastic plate. Fries smooched into a cardboard clam shell. Salad taken out of a bag and stuck in a plastic box. Plastic knife and fork. Had to get everything ourselves. Anemic looking tomatoes. Ice for water in an open bin with scooper that everyone uses. So much for sanitation. No servers... just people from the kitchen bringing you food. I’ll pass this place next time.

BETTER OFF STAYING HOME AND COOKING

I was greeted as I walked in to a mostly empty restaurant and sat at the bar as all of the seating there was available. I sat patiently for approximately 30 minutes waiting for someone to acknowledge me sitting at the bar. 2 more patrons walked in, sat at the bar and left after 10 minutes of no acknowledgement. I convinced myself to remain patient but after observing 2 separate call in orders taken without someone even taking my drink order I walked across the street to Carytown Burgers.

Prepare to wait and eat whatever hostess brings you

I walked in and hostess seemed out of it. Had to tell her twice outside in shade. Seated, nice seat. Not crowded. 15 mins later a waitress turned from another table and asked what I wanted. Ordered. Water, cocktail, large fry( usually come out as appetizer) and a burger. Water came. Then burger came in like 3 mins. By space hostess. I was like wow that fast. No cocktail or fries. Huh. Waitress comes to table and it was the other tables burger. Uuuhhh. So food taken away. 20 mins later all my food comes out together. It’s good food. But my goodness I want whatever I think they are smoking they are smoking.

Delicious!

My family and I stopped in here on a Monday night during our vacation. I felt a little bad going in at 7pm seeing they close at 9pm, but more people came in after us, so it is what it is. I enjoyed the decor and seating. Our server was fantastic. Knowledgeable, paitient, friendly, not overbearing. Our food came out so quickly, was delicious, healthy and fresh! I love that the side is leafy greens compared to the usual fries. They do have fries, and they're great! The array of dipping sauces was incredible and I highly recommend the Manuka Honey Mustard, so good! I got a black bean burger while everyone else ordered different burgers and we couldn't eat our food fast enough! Just so delicious and fresh tasting. The only thing I think can be improved upon is the dressing on the leafy greens. I believe it's their own vinaigrette, but I feel it could use more flavor. I still ate all mine up though. You need to visit this place for sure! Delicious, healthier, filling, fresh food with great service, what could be better?!

We paid for 3 burgers, 3 drinks, and an order of fries. We finished our burgers and asked about our fries several times. Kelsey said she would be right back with our fries, then we witnessed several other tables receive fries. I repeatedly asked her where they were at I watched other tables get fries. They were $12 French fries, not like $3 where it would be no big deal. Kelsey had "no explanation" on where our food was. When I told her I left a bag review online, she said "Have a great night." Apparently customers mean nothing to them .... HORRIBLE SERVICE... Which is sad because the burger was delicious.

Happy hour

We were there last Monday for happy hour and very glad we were. Good NZ sauvignon blanc, great shrimp and mussels were 1/2 off. We had mussels French style and the shrimp with Old Bay. Both excellent and generous portions. Highly recomend.

Burger Bach is unique!

While in the area for work we stopped for lunch. Unlike several other reviews, the service was good. I had the Pit Boss and it was pretty good. I ordered no pink, but there was still a little pink in the meat. The fries were very good. I wish you could substitute the salad for fries. Even if there was an up charge, I would be ok with it. Overall a good burger place for lunch.

AMAZING 🤩 BURGERS 🍔 and FRIES 🍟 !

I have been going to burger Bach since I was a baby. It is amazingly delicious 😋! I would definitely recommend this place! I have never seen one flaw. They literally have THE BEST fries in Richmond! The drinks are always ice cold with plenty of choices. Burger Batch is my go to Richmond restaurant. The atmosphere is great and it is nicely decorated. The outdoor area even has Bocci for kids. Make sure 2 go!

Glad I gave this restaurant a second chance - much better experience this time. Food was good, service was good. Still a little noisy but not nearly as challenging as the first time. Will be coming back.
